I wake up and I think I could use another drink
I'm reaching for a smoke to forget about last night, last night
I get up 'cause I need a shot of instant remedy
I put a record on, it makes me think about last night, last night

It all ended in the weirdest chip
He started actin' way too hip
That's why I ignored you for a long, long time
But then you had the best opening line
You're in the wrong place

You're lying next to me, I don't know where to hide
I see his smiley face that makes me wanna cry
What was I thinking? 'Cause all we did was fight
Don't you ever dare to wear my Johnny Cash t-shirt

You're in the wrong place, you're in the wrong place

You wake up and you think you won't need another drink
You don't want me to smoke, though I didn't stop last night, last night
You get up 'cause you need an organic cup of tea
You put a record on, it makes you think about last night, last night

You confuse me with your blurry eyes
Thought you were a different kind of guy
That's why I took you to my messy place
But it felt as if we were in a different space
You're in the wrong place

You're lying next to me, I don't know where to hide
I see his smiley face that makes me wanna cry
What was I thinking? 'Cause all we did was fight
Don't you ever dare to wear my Johnny Cash t-shirt

You're in the wrong place, you're in the wrong place
You're in the wrong place, you're in the wrong place
You're in the wrong place, you're in the wrong place
Don't you ever dare to wear my Johnny Cash t-shirt

I feel like those preview shows are all within their own bubble. One person gives a certain amount of points and only with a few exceptions, the others join in with a similar opinion. So sometimes you end up with songs that are top 10 in one show, while the same song is bottom 10 in another show.

Not saying the panels are complete garbage. The icelandic show did have North Macedonia quite high in 2019. But at the same time, they only gave 26 points to Duncan Laurence while giving 33 to Sarah McTernan.
The norwegian show had North Macedonia very low, while Tamta received the highest points out of all songs.

With those 16 points in the norwegian show, Belgium will probably end up last place in the whole show. Not sure if I can take this seriously if Slovenia received 66 points. Thats even more than France got.
Nasty thing to say that the Norvegian show should not be taken serious just cuz Slovenia received 66 points... Maybe common people see something that young/average ESC fans do not get it. In any case, I love Belgium and it is one of those songs that people will keep listening to even after the ESC.

I generally like this type of music, but Hooverphonic's song is on the dry side, like Victoria's song. I hope it will do well because it's good for Eurovision to have this genre represented, but this particular entry is not in my Top 15 (and their song from last year wasn't in my Top 15 either).

We kinda know now that this song isn't really liked by much (and that's a shame, but okay). We also know that Geike can sing and perform live.

I feel that for this entry the staging will be really crucial, more than for most other entries. I hope they will do something special. Dark, moody, atmospheric, maybe some special effects.

But I guess that Pancake guy will do the staging for Belgium this year (?). We know that all he tries is to calm it down and make it look as sober as possible. It worked with Calm after the Storm, but after that he flopped big time imo. Let's hope Hooverphonic had enough character to come up with some special or creative ideas.

I still think that with the right staging this could be a jury favourite and end in the top 10 in the final. But with a boring or bland staging, they might not even qualify for the final. If only they would have to perform in the second semi final..

I hope that they will have a lively staging. A calm one will not attract many televotes. I am afraid that they might not qualify as well, and that would be a shame. Let's be honest: this song is one of the rare ones this year that comes across as sophisticated. Fingers crossed!

To be honest, I can see a Latvia 2019 staging for this song (which will be the worst outcome). But that's not very interesting, is it.

Belgium was my choice as the Dark Horse this year, but quite dispapointed about their rehearsal today :-(

I need to see the camera angles to judge this. And that is something they can/will work on.
They should not do to much with this, that would not fit them or the song.

i don't like the backdrop; i could only pay attention to the face in the back instead of geike.

the rest is hard to judge because it was mostly lighting and we don't have the camera angles.

I am actually pleasantly surprised. Who knew that a glitzy dress was actually that good for a song like that? I didn’t! I imagined something simple and dark and moody but I never knew we needed exactly this! Otherwise it would have been too dark and depressing but with that dress and her looks and the background it’s like she is singing a jazz song in a bar apart from it’s a very modern jazz song. But you get the lyrics and all parts are put together perfectly.

I like this staging (maybe only Ukraine is better). They are still very stylish, it looks noble.
The only negative is the face in the background. But it might look better in full performance.
But I understand that not everyone will like it

Idea of the day: Wanna know what the dance version of this song sounds like?

Speed up the videoclip to 1.75.
It's just shocking how well it works

This entry is criminally underrated because of the... beef the group had with the eurofans (and tbh I don't even think the backlash they've received was deserved). It's totally going to qualify.

I just hope they're going to drop the eyes on the backdrop, I've never been an huge fan of faces on big led screens.

I also wasn't a fan of those but here I actually kinda like them!

I am starting to worry because the staging looks way too dark and uninspired. I despise this approach that because it's a "mature" sound it needs to look like a memorial. It is literally a song about a one-night stand that includes chicky lyrics and a video with a decapitated head. It doesn't need to have such a bleak presentation. The fact that this Pancackes character keeps getting hired every single year by both Belgium and the Netherlands is beyond comprehension.

Agreed, I understand why :nl: hired him in 2015 after the staging of Calm After The Storm the year before, but when he messed up Trijntje's staging THAT BADLY we should have got rid of him straight away.

Yeah I... don't like it

I believe either this or :sl: will scrape through thanks to the jury but I believe on the latter more at this point
