EuroVisionary Version

ESCYOUNITED Version

Eurovision In Concert Version

OK. This version is so much better. I think the minus-one version is much appealing than the piano acoustic version. He is getting better.

Yes!! Eliot is getting better and better with each performance. I am happy that he managed to the crowd to sing along with him.
Good job!

Eliot did the performance of the song at The Voice - Belgium.
Seems like we could be getting a little preview of what is going to be Belgium's staging in the competition. I do hope the drummers will not be there, don't exactly fit the song.
And seems like we are getting an armography from Eliot during the chorus (not too sure what to think about it though). He still needs to work on his expressions and stage presence. He looks like he is going to get swallowed up by the stage. Hopefully the staging will be much better in the actual competition.

Tumblr, mostly.
That had better not be the final staging lol. it's way too slow and dark for a song like that, especially during the chorus.

Also, that jacket. girl.

I think they need to do something similar to the video. Dark in the beginning then slowly becoming bright at the end.
It needs an intimate setting too because Eliot still couldn't command the stage on his own and comes across a little static.
And the little armography there seems a little "forced" on his part. He needs to nail it perfectly, if not, it will come across a little half-hearted.
I seriously hope the delegation doesn't screw this up. They have a great song, they need to finetune the performance.
I am pretty worried for Belgium (and Azerbaijan) out of my favourite entries this year.

In the meantime, another video from the official London Eurovision Party channel of the performance he did last weekend.

Alright, I really love the song and it's in my top 10, and for that very reason I hope they ameliorate some details about the act in general.

Firstly, they should change his image a bit. He looks so childish to sing a song with such strong and masculine lyrics as "I came to fight over you", and it makes the story of the song unbelievable&unrelatable.
And the armography would be effective if done only at the last chorus, it looks a bit overdone and cringey the way it is now

In my opinion, his image is alright for it because although this song's message is meant to target all ages, but I still think it was written aiming the teen demographic. So he is suited for the song. He needs to work on his stage presence, because he looks lost in some parts. I don't want or mean to compare, but if you put him beside Bilal (who is of the same age group and similar frame), Eliot pales in comparison because Bilal knows how to command the stage. But of course, it all boils down to personality. But I wish Eliot will be able to look more comfortable on stage, which I think an intimate setting could work to his benefit and also for the song.

Yes. Maybe it's not the image but the stage presence. The thing is, he looks so weak and insecure for a song with such a strong meaning. But i'm confident he will work it out until May.

Which leads me to think that maybe Eliot has not found a way on how to sell the song convincingly. He sometimes appears a little lost or appears a little delicate to be singing a song with such strong message, and it makes the whole performance comes across a little amateurish. I mean understandably, he is new to the music scene and inexperienced as a performer, but I just hope this factor will not hurt his qualification chances because it will be a pity as it is such a great song. I mean as much as many people felt let down by the chorus due to how great the verses are (although I am perfectly fine with how the song is being written), this is definitely still one of the top quality songs this year.

I love the Belgian eurovision sound lately but they really could've done more with this, the chorus is kind of a letdown.

Eliot at the Spain pre-party last night. Not as good as what he did at the London Eurovision Party, but better than what he did at Eurovision In Concert in Amsterdam.
This marks his last pre-party appearance. Hopefully he will be able to improve more when the actual competition comes.

He looks so insecure in the last one, and it shows in his voice unfortunately :?
I hope he'll be less uncomfortable in Tel Aviv, because with a great staging and more energy this song has potential !

Eliot just did another acoustic live. I think he sounds the best here. I am not sure if he is deliberately not singing the "you"/"truth" in the chorus the same way as the studio cut due to the piano arrangement. He is definitely improving.

To tell from this snippet, itis rather disappointing. The chorus doesn't stand out as in the original version.
