i think they could've done more in terms of power and tempo. This is entering the Meilight Zone of "the tempo of performance is much slower than that the rhythm of the song" and that's always dangerous. Belgium will probably miss out again, but oh well, something's gotta give.

I never liked this entry and looks like the staging is not going to change my opinion.

Why is there drums as If they've sent some ethno pop banger? The song has none of them elements. :? What a flop

This song is the biggest fader for me. Liked it at first listen and now it is just too forgettable. And the staging does absolutely nothing to lift this song to another level. I still hope it qualifies, but wouldn’t be surprised or sad if it doesn’t.

Also that outfit is ridiculous. Doesn’t match the song at all.

Why is the Belgium's delegation so bad at staging their entries recently? The last good staging they got was 2016 and that was actually normal for some countries (the performance pretty much relied on Laura and her energy/enthusiasm). Blanche, Sennek and now Eliot pretty much got crap staging. Blanche was lucky because City Lights IS one of the best songs in ESC's recent years, so she was basically saved by that. I feel so sad and sorry for Eliot. I am not getting positive vibes of Belgium qualifying. I hope the juries will save this song.

Well Barbara Dex is a strong possibility at least.. but seriously what a way to throw any possible chances into the bin. The composition itself I thought was already a problem, but perhaps if they staged it right with a dark, slick futuristic vibe at least to match the interesting verses then it could have got by on that. I know it’s hard to judge from very short snippets but from what we’ve seen this just looks so misguided in terms of presentation, and the song isn’t strong enough to get away with it. Easily the weakest rehearsal so far.

That...that'd better not be his stage outfit...

what really clinches this as a deserved bdex for me are the drummers and their eyerollworthy peace-sign tee-shirts. ~All about that collective effort~

Watch Conan win it though.

I'm sorry but that outfit makes him look like he was going to some Naruto cosplay convention or something like that. :?
