It was REALLY awkward when they were focusing on the remaining countries when there were only 3 spots in the final left. It felt like they showed Axel the most and he was praying really hard. I thank god they didn't show him (or I thankfully missed it) when the last country was announced.

I hate when they do that Only time it didn't bother me was Sweden 2010 cause a lot of Sweden fans (not all!) get really cocky and they annoyed me

This was both embarrassing to watch and to listen to. Clearly the worst song of the night, it was all too much of morbid bad taste. I'm glad the grannies are getting clever and aren't buying this stuff anymore.

We will probably see a return of the old national final for next year. I hope the Netherlands qualification can help them try just a little harder.

Well, the problem is that next year, the RTBF (French Speaking Broadcaster) has to choose, and they don't have money for a decent final. So I guess they will just pick an artist and send him or her, just like they did with Roberto Bellarosa.

This year, the VRT (Dutch Speaking Broadcaster) put a lot of efforts and money in it, but - like almost always - with no result. Personnaly, I was touched by Axel at the Sportpaleis in Eurosong, but yesterday on the big stage he was not able to pass the emotion and his voice was not perfect. Stress?

I can already see it : the RTBF choosing the winner of The Voice, doing a random selection on a sunday morning and... still ending on a better place than the VRT.

That's exactly what will happen... I feel so sorry for the VRT 1

I guess for people who have English as their mother tongue, the lyrics do sound weird. But for the majority of Europeans (including me), English is a foreign language, so they don't have the same impressions like people in the UK or Ireland have when they listen to the song.

Well, Eurosong and the Eurovision Song Contest have always been extremely popular in Belgium (at least in Flanders). Eurosong means several weeks of exciting television! That's one of the reasons the VRT put so much energy in it. Anyway, in 2010 and 2012, there was an internal selection with a very good result (the victory of Tom Dice in the first semi-final) and a very bad result (almost the last place for Iris). So I don't think it depends on a national or an internal selection. It's maybe superstition but sometimes I really begin to believe that if your name is Belgium, you're doomed

PS : thumbs up for one of the comments ! A guy says that he doesn't watch anymore this rigged contest but... still thinks that Axel's performance was excellent and that certain countries didn't merit their qualification. Come on, Pinocchio ! I didn't know you lives in Saint-Ghislain... xliar
