don't know if you are on twitter (I'm not I just usually check some things without being logged in) people are cancelling Kazna for singing about braids and wearing them? thoughts

I think it's utter bs and I don't even like the song

Rowan Atkinson recently compared modern cancel culture to a "Medieval Mob Looking For Someone To Burn", and i agree 100%.

I saw it on youtube too.

Ugh, I hate her, she never put her 2019 NF-song on Spotify, and she has recently removed her 2020 NF-song from it. I hope she stops taking part in the Belarussian NF.

This is so frustrating and it has become so freaking ridiculous... IF we really go that route, I mean, we could also say that Eurovision as a concept is a Caucasian/white European one. Thus, that human being is guilty of "cultural appropriation" as well.

Anyway, Eurovision is and should be a place for everyone! No matter their race, ethnicity, country of origin, skin colour, sexuality, religion or them wearing braids or not.
Jesus.. this cancel culture needs to stop.

It's a stupid concept in terms of music and globalisation anyway. Most music nowadays is TRANSCULTURAL anyway, i.e. including several different songwriters and composers from all over the world, singing in English, mixing different ethnic instruments, etc.

Kazna can wear and dress herself and dance the way she wants to. Period.

agree with everything you said! Eurovision should be open to anyone, no matter if they appear as hosts, artists, viewers or jurors and it also is, we see a lot of diversity every year, which I appreciate. But this bs from twitter is so frustrating, also because of that I went off Twitter because everything is racist for them literally everything.. you say something mildly conservative and you are the new "Hitler".

As for Kazna - cultural appropriation is everywhere. Also I'm sure that most of the African people really don't give a damn about a Belarussian singer wearing braids... I mean I lowkey think they would appreciate it.. + not to mention the fact that black people did not invent braids like wtf... Slavic braids also exist..

You think it would be the first time a Russian or Belarussian representative sings in English while doesn't know a word of it...

Ironically after reading all that above I just got a suggested post on twitter from someone posting about Kazna blocking them because they challenged her about Cultural Appropiation. This post then followed by a whole sea of replies from butthurt people. It's a mess really. I'd totally get it if she was intentionally making a mockery of black history and culture but she literally isn't. :'D Hairstlyes belong to no one.

exactly people are blaming people of racism when their intention literally wasn't meant to be anything about colour.. and then people are just putting words into other people's mouths. Like stop and focus on real issues.

Guys, having read all your comments so far I have to say thank you very much, it really means the world to us. I will show all of your comments to Kazna, which will definitely make her gain in confidence again. All these comments of hate, personal attacks, absurd claims have had an impact on Kazna's confidence and psychological state. She doesn't understand what's happening and neither do I...

I have told her to not focus on these people, that she should just focus on herself, her performance, her dream and being who she wants to be. Nobody has the right to tell her who, what and how she needs to be. It's all of you who love this song and support our bid, who we want to focus on and deliver for. It's the least we can do for all of you guys, for receiving so much love. Thank you for that!

I have also been messaged on Twitter, demanding me to answer to their questions. I haven't and I won't! We did nothing wrong and I see no reason why we should justify her look and this song. I have also read that Kazna should change her style and that we should change the lyrics and even the song. My answer to all this is simple, NO! Kazna will not change who she was and is, the lyrics will not change as they aren't offensive and neither will the song!

But I guess the numbers on the lyric video (almost 25,000 views), the performance video (almost 13,500 views) and on Spotify (10,000 plays) speak for themselves! "Braids" is being loved by people and we should never allow a few people to destroy everything. (Oh, and besides, "Braids" has third highest streams from the US on Spotify (says a lot)).

This whole situation, all these attacks, etc. are very exhausting to the whole team...
