I'm (one of) the best student(s) at english in my school and I don't have a problem with the lyrics....I just clap my hands and have a wonderful time because the world is a beautiful place:cool:

The lyrics are definitely not deeply poetic with masterful twists of the english language. But apart from the word "cheesecake" (my favourite cake in the world), I dont find the lyrics much worse than that of most ESC up-tempo songs. To be honest the melody and the performance dont crave very "deep" and sophisticated lyrics imo.
Dont get me wrong, I really like it when I find the lyrics really good, but it is not always necessary for me to like a song...

Since when was ESC this "lyrical contest"? xshrug

Alot of the viewers aren't even fluent in English to begin with... and many people would just hear the songs for the first time so the lyrics aren't the most important.

Lyrics are extremely important. If I were to sing a song about taking a dump in a toilet to the most beautiful piece of music, I think the song would be ruined. Tick Tock's lyrics for example are just so immature I can hardly bare to listen to the song.

I've only heard Cheesecake twice so haven't paid close enough attention to the lyrics yet. The song instantly comes off as cheesy though with it's cake and cheese related lyrics.

I would agree with you but in this case Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey standout pretty negatively at the very beginning. I immediately went, WTF? Quite distasteful.

one more thing: Teo is singing "I don't wanna be your boyfriend"
I've been single for over a year now and I'm desperate, yet I still enjoy singing the song. ;)

I didn't watch yesterday's show but I confess to having been made curious about Elena's Via Lattea so I youtubed her performance. It was all over the place, of course, all over the top, all too much really, eurovisionism gone mad, but i would have picked her over this.

TEO looks to me like he is immitating Rybak's cuteness and it is all a bit awkward and somehow amateurish in my eyes.

meh.

don't get the fuss about the lyrics.
bigger problem is that boring eternal mid-tempo beat that leads to nowhere.

i don't hate it but it is very meh, i was bored after 40 sec :?

I think this song is getting the same treatment as Romania's 2013 song did on this board. Most hate it, but probably in the end will get butthurt if it passes to the final.

Granted if they don't change it, but you know there's a high chance of that happening.
