Yes, it was and I hope our delegation won't be provoked. No need to involve even more politics into ESC.

I think EBU should take measures in order to avoid provocation like that repeating in the future.

I actually liked Samra's answer in the Press Conference, after a man complained about it, "Eurovision is about music". She was stunning.

Sadly EBU won't do anything about it. They still haven't done anything to punish broadcasters who were accused of cheating and they have done nothing about juries who abuse the system in various ways. They only care about money, I'm afraid.

Yeah, that's probably they disqualified only Romania till now. If they actually cared about the rules, Azerbaijan had to be punished after 2009 for interrogating people who voted for Armenia.

They can't punish only for accusation (a thief is not a thief until caught in the act), however, they can punish when there is a clear and visible proof, right?

Classy answer! She rose above all the BS and pettiness. Bravo Samra.

What kind of proof do you need? The fact that :am: is always last in results from :az: (and vice versa) is blatant. Both countries should be severely punished and (I think) kicked out from the contest for a year to calm down a bit.

It has not been a single accident. Every single year, Azerbaijan is involved in some dodgy situation. If this was once then that's fine but It happened three years in a row. This cannot be a simple accident. Same goes for Armenia.

Well, Samra's vocals were pitchy yet again, but I thought she sounded quite decent by her standards. Definitely much better than during yesterday's Jury performance. I really do like the song and am glad that I get to see it again in the finals, but it really does suck for Iceland.

Last year Polina and this year its Samra. Fanboy reporters won't stop till they get one of them to burst out crying on the spot xfacepalm

I quite agree with you, just one thing, Polina was much better singer, more experienced and really big name in Russia, Samira is beginner from much smaller country, she has more modern entry than Polina though, but vocals are weaker..

Well done to Azerbaijan and Samraxheart After the rehearsals my expectations were very low, and had she performed at the same level during the show, I perhaps even would have been annoyed to see her qualify over some of the countries with great songs and strong performers. Samra pulled it together though. It was a mini miracle. It sounded ok and looked great (fabulous staging). She was off vocally at times but my favourite ESC winner of all time is Sertab, so it's hard for me to complain or focus too much on a few dodgy parts. Overall it was great and the chorus was strong. Most importantly I really like the song. Actually I was surprised to find out "Miracle" has been one of my most listened to ESC tracks this year. I've played it more than "Midnight Gold" which is in my top 3xshifty

The woman next to her whispered it to her though.

Indeed, but you could see Samra's face upset from the beginning when that guy started with his statement. I believe Samra just wanted to be sure if she can say something after that, that's why she turned her face to see that woman (Head of delegation maybe?) I really liked the way she reacted, it was genuine, sincere and classy.

BTW do you think there is a possibility that Azerbaijan will withdraw, in case Armenia wins?

Yes I really liked Samra's attitude there. She was clearly visibly upset and uncomfortable while the guy was having that speech and she replied very very well and in a very classy manner

Given the recent tensions Azerbaijan will withdraw if Armenia host it next year, the same way Armenia will withdraw if Azerbaijan host it in the near future. The delegations probably wouldn't feel safe in either country.
