Wow I completely missed this. What a tacky move

Yeah, I haven't seen that either. Only saw people speaking here on the forum. I wonder how many people did actually see that.

Just for you two. xheart I saw it straight away.

unnecessary thing to tbh, but the Azerbaijani member of press was no better, if not worse. Samra had the right answer.

The Endless Drama between Azerbaijan and Armenia: Chapter XVI
Come together mhm..

How can two nations on a war could come together anyways? I'm not afraid of politics in Eurovision, but about this matter, i agree with Samra. In sensitive times, Eurovision should stay as a SONG contest.

It's provocation. She should have refraned from doing that. I haven't seen the press conference but I don't blame the journalist. Wtf was the Armenian delegation thinking? I feel sorry for Samra for being involved in this mess.

This is the second time since Sirusho's little stunt. I have no words.

Well it's nothing new. Armenia has done it before. Remember this little thing from 2009, after drama:

After her flawless performance I was already open for Yerevan 2017. But now dunno, I don't want another edition full of BS like Azerbaijan had. And I imagine Armenia would be doing it ten times worse. (they seem, at least to me, waaaaay more nationalistic than the Azerbaijani people)

Samra's vocals were actually much better today but that's because she was relying MUCH more on the backing vocalists. :? It's a pretty good song, but vocally just not good enough, preferred :is:.

TBH that's why i don't want Armenia to win. So many drama, politics and homophobia.

Can you explain what does that picture mean?

"After the first semi-final, representatives for Azerbaijan complained to the EBU over the introductory "postcard" preceding the Armenian entry, since the video clip had included a depiction of We Are Our Mountains, a monumental statue located in the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh republic, which is considered to be a de jure part of Azerbaijan.[26] As a result of the complaint, the statue was edited out during the finals.[29] However, Armenia retaliated during the results presentations by having the monument displayed on a video screen in the background, and having presenter Sirusho read the results from a clipboard decorated with a photo of the monument."

It's ironic that it was Iveta, who doesn't even live in Armenia, found it necessary xshrug

To be fair, I think Iveta shouldn't have done this but it shouldn't affect the final result. After all this is a SONG contest, a celebration of music. If countries considered homophobic were to be kicked out, then majority of Eastern Europe would have to withdraw. It's not only :am: and :az:.

Ironically you posted this in a thread about Azerbaijan

Ironically i am also coming from a very homophobic nation, which is neighbours with both Armenia and Azerbaijan! Twinsies!

It was a bad idea to rise that flag even she was living in Armenia, it doesn't make any difference, she is not less Armenian for living abroad.

Iveta SLAYED, KILLED and SNATCHED! Sarma can cry as much as she want but she will never have the song, the voice and the sexiness of Iveta MukuchYAN!

Yes, it was and I hope our delegation won't be provoked. No need to involve even more politics into ESC.

I think EBU should take measures in order to avoid provocation like that repeating in the future.
