Interesting the our biggest televote this year comes from :au: with :7:

It‘s so random but another hint at running order impact since in Europe the audience doesn’t peak at and after the beginning of the show and in Australia I think it just does exactly that.

I was thinking about that fact too and I think this could be a sign that in Australia mostly fans watch Eurovision and take part at the televote whereas in Europe the bubble is a bigger percentage of the televoters in the semis but a smaller percentage in the final. Which would mean that mostly fans voted for Austria which was not enough to get Austria into the top 10 in the final.

Also, Australia was in the semi final with you and people had the chance to watch you twice. I think Semi Final is mainly watched by the die hard fans and those countries who are performing in the semi.

And WTHIE gets better with each time listening! :-) Glad you got that televote from Australia!

I don't think that makes much sense. The people who will bother voting are the people who will stick through the whole show until the voting is over part, not the people that tuned into Austria's performance and then switched off the television.

If we watch previous years countries televote results in new voting system, which performed first in GF:

2022: :cz: 5 televote points
2021: :cy: 44 televote points (well much help from Greece and Russia)
2019: :mt: 20 televote points
2018: :ua: 119 televote points (Ukraine has always got lot of televote points)
2017: :il: 5 televote points
2016: :be: 51 televote points (Australia and Netherlands helped)

Beside Ukraine very good result and Belgium and Cyprus average results, performing first isn't very good spot to get televote points. in GF.

But opening the semifinal was such an honour! I didnt understand why Queen Loreen wasn’t honored like this though.

But one of favourites fir ein in semifinal and top 10 in final. You would think that faves like Finland and kaarja If the song is good wouldn't have problems getting points regardless of starting order

It is Käärijä, not kaarja.

The rest of the world vote in the final cost us the 14th place in the final. Doesn't matter much, however I feel like the ROW vote is almost a complete diaspora vote.

This song almost didnt qualify in 2009. It was the jury wildcard save.

The staging was an utter desaster and it flopped in the final, however with a lot of points still for last place.

Goes to show, you can have a masterpiece of a song and still not get what you want, and years later, you are top of the pops.

Our flops of 2022/23 are breaking my heart, but when Belgium can push through, we can too another day.
