I have always been fascinated by news programs from other countries and have just found this old report from Filipino television from 2008:

A Filipino diaspora vote?
For instance

Wikipedia Filipinos_in_the_United_Kingdom

Poland, Ireland, Germany, Italy, France all have bigger % in UK demographics. What's your point? Besides, UK probably won't even vote in the sf where Austria will be allocated. And they don't even have a chance to vote for them in the final.

Hypothetically, let's pretend UK will give 5 pt to Austria (somewhere in the middle). That's not enough, he needs at least 65 approx pts. Where can he get another 60 pts??

In any case, Vincent Bueno has nerves made of steel on the stage. At this appearance, he constantly struggles with the transmitter of his headset. It cannot be attached to the belt. But his dance routine is hardly affected.

Wow he definitely gained a bunch of enemies and its funny because even in Austria just one month ago nobody even knew who he was and never heard of him. Are you his fan or his marketing pr?

Your statement is factually incorrect and easy to disprove. Get your facts straight before you post something.

He has 4k followers and is a middle aged man. Nobody outside Austria knew about him and he definitely isn't that popular in Austria either. Let's be real. I don't even know why I'm talking to you.

Because once again - as always - I proved you wrong and you can’t handle that. That’s why.

Vincent Nobueno follows Kevin Hart, the adulterer and the biggest homophobe in the history of Hollywood. Also, hr posted insta story where he says I need to go to gym. I will be the oldest participant. And I'm like wtf, it's not olympics. U will be forgotten after May anyway. Lol

It's official. I want Vincent to succeed in Rotterdam. This whole drama with that article is just drama abt nothing. I needed his kind words and he needed mine kind words and I'm glad he got got nice, positive reviews from wiwi. I was a drama queen. I will never understand myself. Anyway, ppl love u all, stay positive and happy. From me he won't get any bad word anymore. #love #peace #selfcontrol #lessunecessarydrama

BTW Happy New Year!

The newspaper "Kleine Zeitung" writes today:

"The ESC is celebrating its 65th birthday this year. Whether Austria's hope Vincent Bueno has to go through the first or the second semi-final in Rotterdam will be triggered in January. We trust that the winner of "Musical! Die Show" (2008) will sing and dance into the grand finale on May 16 with his positive uptempo number "Alive". Because the 34 year old will surely inspire the audience with a lively and modern choreography. After private strokes of fate (the Viennese with Filipino roots lost a daughter) we wish him a shower of points from all over Europe. His self-composed song is about overcoming fears and inner constraints - to feel free and just completely "Alive". "

Vincent said that his song "Only Thing" is a masterpiece. Thx to god we had Cesar Sampson' "Nobody But You" (also txt to UK for several reasons) in 2018 because "Only Thing" from Vincent Bueno was the runner up in the internal selection.

I watched a lot of interviews with Vincent and I noticed that he uses the word "masterpiece" differently than we would do. Strangely enough, sometimes he does not seem to associate this word with an evaluation but simply means a work of art.

Statements from 2007 and 2008 provide some background information.

If I heard it right on the interview of Vincent with eurovoxx (the sound quality is like "chopper talk" with Trump) the song will be released right on the deadline in March.

This was yesterday. Vincent Bueno met Gary Lux (Hurricane ESC 1983/Backing ESC 1984/Kinder dieser Welt ESC 1985/Nur noch Gefühl ESC 1987/Backing ESC 1993 and 1995).

Sorry, no translation.
For all who speak Austrian German, an incredible statement at 8:10.:)

At 4:38

As a producer or singer, you are under pressure when you are asked to send in a song for the ESC, you have the Song Contest in mind and don't deliver just an (ordinary) song. You have to think tactically.

Kevin Lehr from the Band Tagträumer recently started his solo project LOST and I think it has got big potential! Wouldn't mind sending him to Eurvision soon...

the demo starts with a piano part, a little "jazzy", then it goes into a part where he goes " ohoh oh oh" and then the upbeat part (chorus) starts. i guess it's supposed to get the crowd going but i just really dont like it, i think it's cheesy and the melody didn't stick with me. but as said i hope the changes and the new production made a big improvement, who knows...

That title of the entry is so uninspiring and basic.. :? but who knows...

True, but at least it isn't SHINE.

As I understand it, the song "Alive" starts slowly "jazzy", as Datura put it, and goes into the upbeat pop part with a touch of K-Pop. Has there ever been K-Pop at the ESC?

You mean like boyband/girlband songs? There is but not technically. Imagine usual danceable or 'current' tracks the Nordic 3 usually picks for their festival, and imagine it being sung in Korean. Simplest, most obvious explanation is that some K-Pop song prototypes are usually demos bought from European or American producers.

In Eurovision, examples might include I Can't Go On (Bengtsson), Stay (Tooji), Popular (Eric Saade), Chameleon (Michela), or Dance You Ofc (Benjamin Ingrosso).
