Paenda really is in a bad mood at the interview. The questions asked were fair and she was pettish. But well, she had more composure of herself than I would have had.

Still, there is a reason why the song is not in the final, and that is Paenda herself. Everything else was perfect, but not her singing on the two nights that mattered the most. She is our Eliot - cute with wrecked nerves.

No need to argue that this is my subjective opinion and not a scientifically proven fact.

A song that uses atmosphere like this isn't going to qualify easily, but I thought it deserved to and the performance didn't strike me as being an obvious negative.

PÆNDA comforting an ORF reporter right after the show "Don't be sad. It isn't that bad. I'm still an artist afterwards"

That deserved to have passed, PÆNDA was very well :(

Paenda and Conan Osiris were big casulties. Hate to see that art did not prevail.

But I am much sadder for Portugal than for us. I think I have a Portuguese soul, because I get quite obsessed with Portuguese acts. Deixa-me sonhar, Amar pelos dois, O jardim and Telemovéis are so moving and emotional for me. That Portugal won in 2017 meant the world to me and that this country finished last last year and was eliminated already this year was so painful. I always get tears in my eyes, when I write about Portugal's elimination because it makes so upset. It is certainly the country that I have spent my most votes for, mostly in vain though.

On the other hand, without Austria, I think I can really enjoy the Grand Final for once without being anxious about our result. I am very relaxed right now. It is also a new experience that we were eliminated with a song, that was in my opinion not supposed to be eliminated (unlike in 2012, 2013, even in 2017 with the shock that we prevailed  ) But this happened before to other countries, so it's ok.

OMG I feel the same. Yesterday one hour after the show,, the relief I felt outweigh my sadness by far. I can enjoy the final like in the old days, when I didn't gave a damn for our result.

La venda ya cayó!!!

I can see clearly now my favourites, I don't have to snub the favourites which would steal our light :lol:xyaay

The only thing that will suck tomorrow, will be our televotes. They will be diaspora-stricken and not so fair as usual.

Just for the full information and to record it, and not for the purpose to complain.
In the jury show Pænda's podestal was put in the wrong place. This made it very unstable because it was not flat on the ground. Pænda was busy all the time not to lose her balance until she could stand up.

HOW?! how on the earth did paenda fail to qualify? though i expected this to happen when she struggled to hit some notes, no other songs carried me away in the way limits did.

shame on you europe, this is art.

I was sure she will make it :(

The song might be a bit too monotone, but it has something special in it. The staging was great too. Too bad, I thought the juries will support her enough.

The main problem was that it didn't stand out enough.

When I watched the video from vk I had the impression that something was off. During the performance, we got to see, her whole upper body was visible but in said video, her arms were "cut" off. Might be due to the wrong placement of the chair.

Because it wasn't a Eurovision song, at all? A lot of people (rightfully) dislike contemporary art, so a song like Limits was always going to be a hard sell. Choosing the song always came with a lot of risk. Austria knew this; that's why the delegation itself argued for weeks whether to send Limits or not.

Second reason was the performance itself. Because of the song choice, Austria put themselves under immense pressure to get *everything* right. They had to nail everything to even have a chance at qualification. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The act was good; but not very memorable among all the crazy shit in the second half. Pænda's vocals were average at best, she missed several notes of that is a very voice & lyrics heavy song.

It wasn't a question of Austria being bad. They weren't. But they missed an opportunity to really turn Limits into A Moment and in a environment where one point can make the difference between qualification or not, every tiny inaccuracy can become a life-ending mistake.

The BS boulevard gossip news website oe24 is claiming that ORF refused to spend 30,000 € for extras like wind machines and pyros.

Their headline says "Paenda-Flop becomes ORF scandal"

Yeah, I never considered these, but now it's pretty clear to me too, windmachine and fireworks would have propelled this song to the final xoscar

Refusing to spend so much money for so important props is indeed a scandal. I'm shook!

Thank you, oe24!
