I love "Limits" and am sad but not as sad as I would be otherwise because PAENDA prepared me for an NQ with that performance.
Pretty sure we won't. Next year we'll have another Nathan Trent :?High risk, high reward doesn't always pay off. Keep on daring with bold Austria, keep on daring. ;-)
I always had a little bit of hope. But during her performance it was clear, that she will not make it. Not because she wasn't bringing it, because it somehow felt so disconnected from the rest.
Staging was beautiful.
I guess ORF is already calling Boris Milanov.
Denmark could never.
Would have probably been a different story with Filler but who cares about that now anyway... I still don't get the decision for Limits though.
They could have also just sticked to Symphonix...
This year, the wrong song was chosen. I expect the ORF to learn from this mistake and to get things back on track next year. There is no shame in missing the grand final once after five years. It would only be a shame if this didn't lead to better choices in the future.
I want to add that Limits is a tasteful song, it's just not the right choice for Eurovision.
It's sad Austria didn't make it but it wasn't totally unexpected. The song is no favorite of mine either, as I have said before. The staging, however, was amazing. I put Austria in 5th place in the ranking I made while watching the semi but that had a lot to do with me liking the staging and I suppose I was biased as well because it's my own country. I was hoping we would be able to qualify anyway. Alas...
At least Austria has been in the grand final for five consecutive years. In these five years, Austria achieved a 1st place, won the jury vote twice, and made it to 3rd place for the first time, so two of the three best Austrian results in the history of Eurovision have been in the last five years. That was a great streak.
I know PÆNDA wanted to compete with a different song anyway. If she had been allowed to sing the song she wanted, things might look very different now.
I disagree. Austria took a risk, and it did not pay off. It could have though. In the other semi, or if Paenda just would have sung better. Something must have happened between the rehearsals, when suddently wiwibloggs and other fanblogs acknowledged that there was magic and a high chance of qualifying and the actual jury and live show, when it was obvious even to me, that the ship is sinking.
Unlike in 2013, I am not hopeless. I don't think we are set for a non-qualification streak. Let's check it in as hickup.
I don't get the risk though if you have many other safe options... Risk in that case only makes sense if it's about top 5 or NQ, not about possible borderline qualification like with Limits...
mass suidice happening in 3-2-1... Is Lindon okay? Can somebody check on mr Lindon, please???
