I just fell off my chair. Conchita with long hair and evening gown is back at the Amadeus Austrian Music Awards.

The promotion video of the event showed something very different.

She said in an interview recently, that Conchita is not killed but will return on occasions (like the concert with the philharmonic orchestra in autumn) but that besides this he will also appear in different styles. He really takes the notion of diversity to a new level. You gotta love her.

This might have been the queerest act on austrian television EVER. xlove

Yeah, if you compare it with the very conservative past of ORF only a few years ago:

Conchita is the queer version of Maruv. This performance is not easy to watch, but it's a daring one.

Imagine how much hate she would get on Facebook, and how much the juries of Russia and their satellites would desperately try to sink her. And still, "Hit me" could win Eurovision 2019.

I just listened to Evolution 2...a bit too poppy for my taste, so I'm glad the ORF chose Limits, which really stands out.

Tom should of course do what he wants, but me personally as a fan I am glad Conchita still lives. xlove

The ORF describes tonight's appearance of PÆNDA in the show "Dancing Stars" as an "acid test" for Tel Aviv. So, no pressure at all.

I just bought the official Eurovision CD today - I'm listening to it right now for the first time - and wow, Austria kinda got me. I have always overlooked that entry but it sounds really beautiful in HQ/with a good sound

I think what keeps Austria's chances alive is the fact that like, in 2016 with Loin d'ici, this song is like an antidote to all the other dramatic and out there songs.

Last night I had my (kind of annual) Eurovision dream and all I can remember is that Paenda has been on 12th place in the final... :) Would be quite a decent result haha. As always I can't remember the winner though

I also had a Eurovision dream with Paenda ending up 12th in the Final, 7th in the jury vote.

I think Switzerland won in my dream, and I was at peace with it, because I decided to attend Eurovision 2020 then.

The voting in Dancing Stars is the ultimate proof that the austrian televoting public is unable or unwilling to make their decision on quality. This is of course totally off-topic and I leave it at that, but tonight's show was another example how trash prevails over quality. Thank god we don't have a national final for the ESC. They would ultimately give us things like Cordula Grün xpuke

BTW, The new design of ORF1, from Stuart Veech’s Veech x Veech, is crafted around the idea of “no curves.” ORF’s Channel Manager Lisa Totzauer notes the design has “rough edges, like us.”

Evolution II: my personal rating

01 I Like The Way You Hate Me (not the strongest start but ok) 6/10
02 Like a Domino (reminds me too much of Sara Aalto :D ) 4/10
03 Filler (this is a banger and was possibly her potential esc song, I like) 9/10 ...after 2nd listening 10/10
04 Love Myself (best song so far and nearly on the same level as limits) 9/10
05 Limits (...) 10/10
06 So Loud (strong song and beat) 7/10
07 All The Right Things (her catchiest song ever) 9/10
08 Everything I'm Not (middle of the road) 5/10
09 Wavebreaker (Waves part 2? too noisy for me :() 2/10
10 Stay For The Night (this song is soo good and for me the best song..but not suitable for eurovision) 10/10

Limits was was maybe the right choice but "Filler" would be very suitable for the esc and especially for OGAE-Fans :)

After the 2nd listen I give "Filler" 10/10

Well, PÆNDA's record company or amazon.de were taken by surprise by the great demand for the audio CD of "Evolution II". It's sold out at the moment.

The OGAE people proof how difficult it is to sing "Limits"

:

xheart

Love the reaction of PÆNDA when the guy in the audience spoils the lyrics.
Making a sad song happy.
I think, she won them over.

01 I Like The Way You Hate Me (I think she meant something else than "hate" with the same amount of letters:lol:) 8/10
02 Like a Domino (I have no Sara Aalto allergy ) 7/10
03 Filler (I'm addicted to the song since AAMA, the best among the best) 10/10
04 Love Myself (chorus to sing along, can't be played in the US) 9/10
05 Limits (everything is said and done) 10/10
06 So Loud (powerful) 8/10
07 All The Right Things (something to snap along) 8/10
08 Everything I'm Not (radio friendly, love it) 10/10
09 Wavebreaker (disclaimer: I can't stand Evolution I, this is a reminder why) 2/10
10 Stay For The Night (also too much Evolution I for me) 4/10

The winner besides "Limits":

"Filler", here once again the AAMA live short version:
