The French selection has a singer named Naestro with a very deep voice, too, which is incredibly expressive and dynamic. Comparing him to Alexander Eder, he wins by a lot. Alexander is not mature enough yet, he needs more practice. Deep and slow would not do enough.

This week ORF will announce who represents Austria in Tel Aviv. At last 3 acts were considered.
(According to Eurovision Austria, observers believe firmly, that one of the acts is Hyäne Fischer's "Im Rausch der Zeit".)
After Cesár Sampson's third place last year, the Austrian music scene was much more receptive to the topic Song Contest. But there are always reservations, because of course it can go wrong, see the examples of Trackshittaz and Makemakes, who messed up their performances. In case of Trackshittaz it finally led to the end of their career. The Makemakes have taken it easy and kept working.
Here they are with their new song:

I thought she had no chance, but then I saw her singing the song on her facebook account in an acoustic version during a private New Year celebration and I was impressed.

Neither the Makemakes nor Trackshittaz had an understanding of what Eurovision is nor a passion to really want it. Hence, they did not take it seriously but thought it was a fun past time with easy success. All those Austrian entries who really dove into the ESC bubble got good / great results.
So - the question is (and I really believe Eberhard Forcher is paying attention to it): Which act will be willing to go fully Eurovision. I suspect Hyäne Fische is far away from it as they have a complete different ambition and approach to it. They'd use the ESC to convey their message and they wouldn't care about the result - so they would definitely be the wrong choice.
Having said this I really like the act - I find it refreshingly subversive and with a dash of dark humor (sth. I really love). But Eurovision? Rather not.

Eberhard Forcher says in his video that he himself is curious which of the three songs ORF chooses. With the retirement of Edgar Böhm much experience from the past years has been lost. The new structures at ORF could revive past mistakes.

i still dont believe that Hyäne Fischer is one of the three acts. And Eberhard Forchers said there was more interest form the austrian music scene this year. Maybe not a no name entry this year. still i hope for the duo.

I have to disagree with you on this point. In November Eberhard Forcher told Kleine Zeitung that there were two songs in the final selection. In December, Hyäne Fischer submitted her song and Forcher says now there are 3 songs in the final selection.

the submission deadline was 31 august. for me the whole thing sounds like she was part of the process but was not chosen for the final round. if she still would be part of the process i dont think the orf would be very happy about her marketing campaign. certainly the participants are obliged to not talk about the process.

He only said that it will be a pop duo or a ballad. Maybe 2 ballads and a pop duo.

Eberhard Forcher said the decision would be made this week. But what about the announcement? Also this week? In that case we have 2 days left, cause I don't think they'd announce it on saturday or sunday....
As in former years I expect it to be announced during the Ö3 Wecker.
