I don't think Conchita is competing for the LGTB people at all, but for herself and her country, as it's logical. I don't feel like she's competing for me. At all.

I'm sorry but I don't buy this about tolerance, stereotypes, etc..... Tom became Conchita cause he wasn't succesful enough as Tom. That's my opinion.

Even if Conchita wins, I don't see why that would help to develop the situation of LGTB people there in problems or improve it in other countries where equality is close.

But anyway, this is a SONG contest, social contest, personality contest, political contest or sequin contest?

I agree, why does it matter what people think about gay people? IMO you should not care about what other people thinks about you, you should be who you are and if you're not you are not helping anyone out.
If people have opinions about gays then they won't change because they see someone looking, in your opinion, '' normal '' and say '' hey, he looks quite average, maybe I should accept the fact that people are gay ''.

I don't think Conchita is doing this for the LGBT community, I think she is doing it for everybody (gay or straight). She represents self expression (self growth), but everyone has a different perspective on this.
