I dont like what I've heard from him so far, but who knows what song is he getting for ESC...

He's probably the most succesful Austrian artist since decades. One of his songs was more than 120 weeks in the Austrian Single Charts :O He's also very popular here in Germany so I guess in Televoting he could do quite well here. The big problem is the new jury system, with the old system he would have better chances in my opinion. He's a great entertainer and would make a great stage show, but I'm not sure if he fits in this Eurovision concept.

Conchita Wurst? i thought it would be her because i read that she was interested in doing it, and when Austria said they would internally select then it made me think it would be her even more. The fact they've announced it now means they can get a good song written! Come on Austria qualify for 2014. IMO they've should of qualified this year with Natalia Kelly (it was in my top 10)

I do not want to live in this country any longer. What a pathetic pile of tut. Just as the national broadcaster did in 2007, ORF once again decided to not even bother consulting the audience on which artist they will enter. As in 2007, I think it's going to end in a terrible placement in the semi-finals and another three year break from taking part.

What an absolute joke.

I've never heard of Conchita Wurst. Is she well-known / popular in Austria and neighbouring countries. Of course how well (or badly) she does in next year's ESC semi final, and final if she gets that far, depends very much on the song she has to sing and how well she sings it.
