Do you mean the WA State Govt or both state and federal govts?Western Australia Federal Government is partially funding their pre show performances and the main performance. They should have a decent budget it seems for the main performance, I'm intrigued to see what staging they'll bring
It's such nonsense that it's actually quite unfair . I would totally ignore it, wouldn't waste a minute of my time and nerves with it .Let´s have a look at past participant:
2015 Guy Sebastian Malaysian Indian of Tamil origin and Ceylonese descent 2016 Dami Im 2017 Isaiah Firebrace Aboriginal Australian (father: Yorta Yorta / mother: Gunditjmara 2018 Jessica Mauboy father: mother: Aboriginal Australian (Kuku Yalanji) 2019 Kate Miller-Heidke Caucasian / white 2020-2021 Montaigne with other ethnicities such as 2022 Sheldon Riley father: 2023 Voyager Caucasian/ white - lead singer is from
Honestly, I can´t think of another Eurovision country which submitted such a different/diverse bunch of talented singers to Eurovision in recent years.
Yep. Confirmed by Eurovoix here.Western Australia Federal Government is partially funding their pre show performances and the main performance. They should have a decent budget it seems for the main performance, I'm intrigued to see what staging they'll bring
Yeah tbf I never missed a guitar solo in Dreamer but it's cool to have one as well. But when you think about it only half of rock songs at ESC have a guitar solo, they do come across as a bit cheap and almost makes a song more generic tbhI like it quite a lot except the electric guitar solo towards the end. It cheapens it a bit, but I know some love it. Maybe I feel this way because I love indie rock and often dislike classic rock.
Exactly. Makes it more generic. I also have problems with some of the lyrics, they're not... masterful. But most people won't care about that. I'm a lyrics nerd.Yeah tbf I never missed a guitar solo in Dreamer but it's cool to have one as well. Unless the staging is amazing, I think this entry will just drown in the sea of bands this year... they'll qualify for the final because semi 2 is so terrible + it's only televote thoughThey've done a decent amount of press, which is good for interest in the contest down here I'm hoping haha. I just need SBS to announce we are going to keep participating and then I don't really care how this does either way. I think it'll qualify but flop hard in the final. This will have no jury votes to carry it like with most of our entries and I don't see this getting televotes either.

SBS has never had the funds, and money is always plays a part in who they send to Eurovision, hence their first representatives were all signed with Sony, and Kate had to crowdfund parts of her entry lolI'm worried for Australia tbh. This maybe means that sbs didn't have enough money to fund the act themselves and therefore selected voyager since they were backed by Western Australia. Because how else did this bland song by more or less a no-name got internally selected by Australia which usually takes Eurovision seriously?
Do you reckon SBS don't want to keep participating anymore. I feel like we can stay in the contest as long as we want to but I just get the feeling SBS don't want to anymore?I miss Jessica Mauboy. She just recently delivered such a good performance of We Got Love at Sydney Pride!
