Some additional information on the song - people with decent insider connections are saying that it's "anthemic, Sia-like chorus, intimate, distinctive, very competitive" and "emotional". I don't think we can rely too much on the points of 'distinctive' and 'competitive' - you'll never hear any insider info saying 'well, it's kinda boring and generic' - but even then, the rest of those points sound promising.

I'm not really up on a lot of modern pop singers...what exactly does "Sia-like chorus" mean?

Judging from Sia's songs, I'm guessing it means it's a kind of high-register, too-many-runs-and-vibratos kind of chorus.

Sorry for going off-topic but is there any concrete evidence that Dami Im was the second choice after the first choice opted out ?

Sounds like someone's gotten a little bit too "intimate" with a thesaurus. The adjectives used are very generic, nondescript, sweeping, universal and unremarkable (And don't even get me started on the fact that "Sia-like chorus" plus "distinctive" basically forms an oxymoron...)

The musician and linguist in me needs a drink...

Either I'm having problems understanding something or the release date is kinda vague as to whether we'll get the song today or tomorrow. Dami's post mentions that we're getting the full promo video tonight, but that the song comes out tomorrow. Does that mean that the song premieres tonight, but isn't released for sale until tomorrow? Or that we see more of the promo video tonight, but the full promo video itself doesn't actually contain the full song? I'm confused.

One way or another, though, I'm quite liking the sound of that snippet. It's got me excited to hear the chorus, at least... could we have a contender this year?

Yeah, I'm imagining that'll have to be changed for Eurovision. I'm hoping we have to change it, actually... it feels like a bit of an awkward and silly reference in the middle of an otherwise dark song.
