Because this gesture is widely known with a completely harmless meaning. We even have two smiley-icons in this forum: xrockoutxmetal
I don't know of wich terrorist group you are talking nor if they use that gesture. On the other hand the flag in question has no other, meaning non political implication.
What you are doing here is a very lame attempt to use he "tu-quoque fallacy"

See for yourself:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grey_Wolves_(organization)

And from the Turkish blog that mentions that it is exactly what he's doing:
http://blog.milliyet.com.tr/eurovision--da--bozkurt-isareti-/Blog/?BlogNo=306548

If the EBU did nothing here, for something far worse, then nothing should be done to Iveta.

Pardon? I have a right to express my opinion. I live in a free country. Perhaps I was a bit harsh but I openly dislike ITVand I hope they will get kicked out soon. They are a bunch of cheaters and have proved it notorously (I already provides evidence in case you say that Im making stuff up) They aren't good representatives of Azerbaijani culture and haven't even bothered to send something truely Azerbaijani (maybe with 2009 as an exception). I wish Azerbaijan was represented by a normal broadcaster, then I could actually enjoy their presence in the contest. Unfortunately, as of now I'm pretty disatisfied with Azerbaijan and I think ITV is one of the broadcasters that are ruining the contest (because if their open hatred towards Armenia, cheating allegations and buying songs from abroad)
Expressing opinion (whatever it is) is one thing, humiliating a country or nation is another. There was no need for your ignorant statement.

In the same way Verka Serduchka should be banned in Esc 2007. Instead, Verka Serduchka is appearing in several forthcoming ESCs including this one.

I always said that song has some defect in lyrics, maybe it would be better like this

I want to rush a a a a
Use a good Buy

I have checked the video as the picture you posted is not entirely clear. The moment you are referring to, he has both the middle AND the ring finger under his thumb. This is definitely NOT the gesture described in the articles of which you have posted the link. The gesture you are talking about has the middle and the ring finger stretched together with the thumb. He is covering both with his thumb.

So his gesture means either: we rocked the thing or (if he had been Italian) I slept with your wife ("cornuto"). The latter is highly unlikely

see for yourself at 1:00:44

Humiliating a nation? Are you kidding me? How can you accuse me of humilating the whole nation just because I called Azerbaijan 'Cheatersbaijan' on some forum about music contest? Do you really take this so seriously? If yes, then do you think this was a humilation as well:
My opinion still holds - I think Azerbaijani broadcaster should be excluded from the contest because of suspicious voting results and cheating allegations just like Armenian broadcaster. It would be fine if this was one-off but the cheating allegations are reappearing every single year so this is definitely not normal. Its a big shame that Samra has passed to the final: perhaps if she got what she deserved then ITV would change their attitude and see that its time to play fair and rethink their strategy. It will be interesting to see full results on Saturday so that we know whether Azerbaijani voting results are dodgy yet again.

At least we already know their suspicious last place.

Well.. Politics aside, this one is a pure winning material! The song is great, nothing extraordinary, yet very powerful and the amazing staging definitely carries the song far to the sky. It's probably the best ESC staging in terms of camera angles, pyros, special effects etc. I'd definitely want to see this winning over the Russian dull song with bloodthirsty use of gimmicks.
Good luck on Saturday!

This might have a huge impact closing the show. A win is still pretty much possible.

Why did the EBU give them a pass when their winner flashed the sign of a right-wing terrorist organization that targets religious and ethnic minorities? This is worse than holding up the Artsakh flag.

I guess it won the first semi, since they put it last.

The performance from SF1 made this song jump quite a bit on my top. I dont think it'll win but it'll come high, and a well deserved high spot for it as well! Top 10!

I son't see how this is related. If ypu look at previous years, there is no such correlation.

I think it's a great draw worthy of a favorite because it will make a huge impression at the end of the show.
Of course, I might be wrong about Armenia winning the semi.
