Surprised that didn't score higher. I mean... Sweden or Poland did better, wtf. I think performing last didn't help at all. Yesterday, it didn't stand out for some reason. It was like we had already seen everything and nothing else could surprise us.

And so glad the Spanish jury (with all the members ranking it 1st or 2nd) gave 12 points to Armenia. Very well deserved.

WTH? Did someone notice one the Armenian juror actually didn't rank Azerbaijan last but 19th? Not that that it would change something to the outcome but still xthink

Props to him/her. That's about the ranking I would have given it.

Armenia was great, but I can't help but wonder if her flag stunt hurt her chances. Dumb move, and we have yet to see how the EBU will react.

I bet this person is now hidden in the Amazonian jungle with a false identity. 19th place, how dare of him/her.

Seventh place is too low! I converted myself to a fan after the semifinal performance - now that is how to do a sexy performance without dancers and stuff!

Deserved better but got sidetracked in this Russia/Ukraine and EBU-darlings-Australia thing...

Every year since 2000 my favourite song finds its place in top10. I am so happy that Iveta with her stunning composition is not an exception, though she should have been a bit higher, somewhere in top5. Anyway, well done :am:!

I was wondering about that. Either the juror had to flee the country after the ranking was published or it was a plan to fool the EBU into believing that the jurors actually vote objectively and independently, which is rather questionable, if they all vote the same.

After the flag incidence they might have felt the urge to appear compliant with the rules.

I wonder who was behind this.

It's said to be recorded at the Globen Arena before the final on Saturday. If that's true and there would be any link to the Armenian Delegation, this could possibly lead to a retroactive disqualification!

Armenian delegation this year is like bunch of kids trying to be annoying. Like high school students screaming even though they know it's stupid.

I appreciate their song and effort this year. They were great. But all this related to Karabakh issue doesn't help them at all.

Azerbaijan used to be quite annoying. I am very pleased by their reactions this year every time when they got uncomfortable questions.

No, EBU wouldn't disqualify Armenia. But I would stand for one year disqualification at least due to repeating provocation since this is clearly intended and not once. If there is one thing iritates me, it is politics. I even try to stay as far as possible from my country's politics and I don't really want to be involved to the tension between Armenia and Azerbaijan because I couldn't care less. These countries literally make me take a dislike to Eurovision step by step. This show is meant to be entertaining. Let me quote from Wikipedia why there is Eurovision.

In the 1950s, as a war-torn Europe rebuilt itself, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU)—based in Switzerland—set up an ad hoc committee to search for ways of bringing together the countries of the EBU around a "light entertainment programme". At a committee meeting held in Monaco in January 1955, director general of Swiss television and committee chairman Marcel Bezençon conceived the idea of an international song contest where countries would participate in one television programme to be transmitted simultaneously to all countries of the union.

If it doesn't fit participants, just realise that there is no room for you in Eurovision and no one has a right to spoil the contest. I really hope that EBU will do something real about it.

And how sad it is, Iveta had my full support back then.

Now she is just another cliché of politics.

Armenia v Azerbaijan was actually secondary billing in this Eurovision. (and there was definitely some Azerbaijan reaction in the press conference after the semi)

Top of the bill was Ukraine v Russia.

The whole flag issue was building up before the contest anyway. First saying that people couldn't wave regional flags and then saying that regional flags of performers could be waved, and maybe even others. The proviso given was that it couldn't be done to inflame tensions such as waving a flag during any 'adversary's' performance. So waving her regional flag didn't have to be considered inflammatory. If they were given guidance before the contest not to wave it when on camera then I could understand some action, but did that happen? In the end I find it all rather childish and certainly very selective. A flag is just a flag I suppose. But it's obvious to me that the organisers are very inconsistent. Israel did a peace song after bombing Palestinians, Russia has done peace songs after wars, Ukraine and Armenia have both done songs about events considered to have continuing political repercussions to some people. History IS political, because it's always used by politicians for their agendas in the present. Either ban all songs relating to such things, and make all songs strictly on personal issues or make it a free for all. Be consistent.

My own feeling is the Eurovision organisers get a bit too big for their own boots, and with the frequent 'coming together' themes actually want it political in a way, but only on their terms. Refugee interval, waving EU flag, gay flag waved and questions on that in press conference etc. They want stories not just on music but on whatever issues they like or they feel promote their 'brand' (in their words) how they want.

I'm also wondering about the outcome for the Azeri viewers who put Armenia 14th and not last. How very dare of them.

I saw that plane circling the Globen a good few times as we all waited to be let into the arena!

Anyway, controversies aside, Iveta was the "wow" performance of 2016 for me.....just fantastic staging and the most complete performance for me.
