Oh I forgot. Were there issues with the sound of Aram at the begining of the song ? In France it was very arsh. we thought they would stop the song or make him sing again at the end of the evening because we couldn't really listen to the intro. Then it went all right...

I don't think so, not in the UK at least.

It was one my favorite songs back in the day when it was presentend for the first time, but after reharsals and yesterday's performance it quite lost its fashion. Sorry Aram :(

He had a great performance (even with the gloves) and he was a great opener. But at least in my opinion I found him a bit nervous and this affected to his voice...I hope that he will be less nervous in the final and make an amazing performance, deserved to be winner's

I was so annoyed with both Armenia and Azerbaijan for not wanting to sit next to each other in the press conference. They actually had to rearrange the cards putting Azerbaijan at the end of the able. So if there are two countries that can't put politics aside, it's the two I just mentioned.

I really don't like this. Eurovision should be about coming together. Two countries that seem to be at war with one another maybe shouldn't be allowed to enter? It creates a really unpleasant atmosphere. Why for one night, as human beings can't people just be civil to one another? They really should have been forced to sit next to each other. Things shouldn't have to be changed and rearranged. They are adults, not children. As artists they should be smarter.. but then as it's been mentioned, it might not be Dilara and Aram but their teams calling the shots.

Yup, probably someone higher up made the decision and they probably did it to avoid a reaction from all those fans who don't have the best behavior.

Does anyone else here think his nervousness may have been acted? He definitely seems like the kind who would do such a thing. He may have felt so sure he would qualify anyway, that he deliberately put on a shaking, uneasy performance to make him seem more human and frail, to wow everyone with a note perfect, super-professional performance in the finals :p

So I discovered the songs of the 1st semi yesterday and I'll give my opinion on the Armenian entry.

No need to compare "You're not alone" with "Lonely planet", quality speaks for itself. It's a great song, which is very slow at the beginning and then very dramatic and modern towards the end. The singer's voice is interesting and all. The presentation was nice too. I have nothing to criticize or speak highly of, it qualified and it deserved to imo. However, like Hungary, I fail to see how this could win. It'll do well for sure, but win? I think it is too slow to aim at the first place.

I guess it's a grower, I wanted Aram to qualify but he wasn't among my big favourites of the night. When I get the cd, I'll certainly change my mind. Congrats Armenia, last year you came back with some nonsense, but now that's how you do it.

Good luck and see you on Saturday!

The first impression of mine wasn't that good. I could say just that's an OK song. But maybe because of getting used to it since yesterday, or maybe the depressed mood of mine today, this song becomes something better. Let's see until the final.

Aram's vocals were less than perfect, but it was not a catastrophy. Some rough moments in the first verse, ok. I think what really hurts his chances is that he has to both vocalize and visualize the song alone, and with all of Aram's talents this seems a bit much for him. They should have placed him on a piano and put something or someone else on the stage for the camera to play with, if you ask me.

I quite agree with this. I said I while ago that I would have loved a couple of dancers on stage, switching between a more classical style and dubstep. It's a quite "dramatical" song and I think it would have suited the performance just fine.

That's funny, a few weeks ago while listening to his song I had a similar idea. Aram at the piano and a single ballerina on the other side of the stage. He would sing to her and she would dance back to him. So while seperated in different worlds they would be "not alone". Don't know if that would have worked out, but the piano would have given Aram something else to stare on apart from the camera.

I just watched the performance at Euroclub. And I say it again: He should put away the gloves. You wouldn't think that this small detail makes such a difference, but for me it clearly does. If he wears them I have problems to connect with him, whereas it's easy for me if he doesn't.

Yeah, I dunno why he brought the gloves back. It's way better without them...

It's a great song and it's also one of my favorites, BUT I don't think our country will give a lot of votes to Armenia because of some homophobic comments/rumours that were made (and our commentators told us before their perfomance), which obviously my country isn't really fond of. I don't really know what happened - can someone enlighten me what's the fuss about?

Actually, Aram as a comedian made a joke in press-conference and international press translated it wrong. In this video they are hugging with Conchita, so everything is good :) He is not a homophobic person.

You can be serious? What a lame behavior.. Armenian delegation should report this. It's a direct act of affecting votes.
