Re: ARMENIA 2012

^^ The headline was written by Armenian journalist yet in my post I didn't write the headline but the content which clearly shows the guarantees by Prime-minister EBU received in October 2011. By and large those security guarantees are mainly dedicated to Armenian delegation due to obvious reasons. Further, it was stated that EBU met with Baku city officials and discuss the issue with them in August 2011. In addition it was clarified that EBU itself does not provide any guarantees so Armenia didn't apply for that to EBU at all though in some previous news from Armenia we read that Armenia is not satisfied with Azerbaijani guarantees and wants additional guarantees from EBU.

Armenia to decide on participation in Eurovision-2012 soon

January 14, 2012 | 00:01 YEREVAN – Armenia will soon decide on its participation in Eurovision-2012 song contest, scheduled for May 22-26 in Baku, Azerbaijan, head of the Armenian delegation in Eurovision Gohar Gasparyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“We know our job and are aware of our problem. Our task requires specific approach,” she said adding that European Broadcasting Union (EBU) did everything within its authority, while Azerbaijan offered security.

The issue is whether the Armenian side is satisfied with the guarantee.

To note, Armenian public channel did not turn to EBU with application to secure special conditions for the Armenian delegation in Azerbaijan, supervisor of Eurovision Sietse Bakker told Mediamax.

Earlier Armenian News-NEWS.am informed that Gasparyan had told Armenia will decide on its participation before the New Year.

European many states hesitate on their participation in the contest, hold in Azerbaijan, which is under dictatorship. Poland and Czech Republic rejected their participation.

Armenia thinks that "many" European countries rejected Eurovision because of dictatorship?? What a cheap propaganda!?! I would like to see them in Baku before, because I was thinking it would bring peace between two states and some good contact of fans. It is a good start for peace... But unfortunately, after cheap Armenian propaganda (first, they claimed that many states will not participate (Sweden, Germany and so on), now they say that many states will not come because of the dictator), I have doubts about their peace mind. It is better for them to end this cheap show or interviews of Gasparyan and come back in 2013.

Re: ARMENIA 2012

welcome.
I am sure that the song will be in Armenian.

Oh let's hope it will be in Armenian, with all English taking over ESC, any country that enters with their own language makes a HUGE contribution to the contest.

I don't think that the song will be full in armenian cause I'm sure they try to win so hard in a country like Azerbaijan :) I think they're coming for winning not to show armenian language but yes there will be armenian parts in the song too.

Cause they wants to spell the hosts in Azerbaijan that sentence ''Armenia is the winner'' :) It would be great for Armenia but it's in dreams friends.

^yes for sure :)

But they think they are coming to win I mean :))

I don't think so, Azerbaijan will never allow Armenia to win this on Azeri soil.

They are entering to partly make a point, but I think mostly because this contest is an important tool for "new" and "outsider" European countries to make a name for themselves.
