STOP BEING POLITIC?! Yes, you have problems with eachother, there are two things you can chose from
1) If you can't help nagging, JUST GET THE **** OUT
2) Just try to respect eachother, just try it, and get on with the spirit of this topic

Thank you for your time.

Alrighty, final warning y'all. Any further breaking of the rules will result in further actions by the Mod team. No political discussions.

Anyways, it's all very quiet, when is the final date for confirming participation? Isn't it soon?

Re: ARMENIA 2012

Panorama contacted Gohar and she hinted that Armenian broadcaster is still waiting for guarantees from the EBU which means that most def we won't see Armenia in 2012.

Re: ARMENIA 2012

^ Armenian broadcaster needs better (in their opinion) guarantees.
Yep, the EBU has already said everything. It's been even said on public.
The best option in this "double" trap for the broadcaster is to apply officially (imo).

If they don't apply they will screw relationships with the EBU even more.
If they care about safety so much they should have refused in the beginning without this circus with an obvious outcome.

Re: ARMENIA 2012

This "news" by News.am is a pure misinformation and propoganda for their own people. Normally News.am publishes news on three languages but this time they did it only in Armenian and Russian cause most probably they knew they are writing unprofessional sh*t so they did not want it to be cited by western media.

Sietse Bakker gave an interview to Armenian Mediamax where he denied that Armenia applied to EBU for special guarantees. Sietse Bakker told that EBU got security guarantees for Armenian delegation from the Prime-minister of Azerbaijan and in August 2011 they also discussed the issue with Baku City Hall. Here is the news from Armenian Mediamax (in Russian) http://www.mediamax.am/ru/news/society/3599/

the journalist misinterpreted Sietse Bakke's words. what's Andy from euroforum thinks about it :
Это все какие-то трудности перевода, потому что я уже показывал несколько страниц назад, что получается, когда начинают переводить слова Баккера так как какой стороне нравится.

В этой новой статье заголовок ЛЕВЫЙ, придуманный журналистам. Слова Баккера точные и в них нет фразы "не запрашивала".

Вот был пару недель назад еще его прямой англоязычный текст, я приводил, и вот дословный перевод, где он говорит, что особые требования по безопасности БЫЛИ:

- Security is a responsibility of the Host Broadcaster, in close cooperation with the respective authorities. The commitment we have received from your prime minister in this regard applies to all participating delegations. Some delegations have specific requests in regards to security, but not to jeopardize security itself, I will not go further into that. As of yet, we cannot confirm Armenians participation yet, since the official list of participants will only be revealed in early January.
