Re: ARMENIA 2012

In my opinion, if Armenia wants to take part in Eurovision, they could say it from the beginning without speculation or politicization of the issue. Yet they have been lasting the decision till the last seconds, which give me a picture of speculation and politicization from their side. The best example, are Greece and Cyprus in Turkey, or Serbia vs Kosova and Albania. These countries demonstrated high political will during ESC, demonstrating their high peaceful attitude. Nobody interested in any conflicts in ESC. How many watchers protested against ESC or Russia when Georgia did not participated? I think a few people and the rest did not care.

I still didn't get if Armenia wants to participate or not? Any idea?

Don't be naive, it's not that simple.

No...

Anyways tuirks, azeris, armenians and russians are all biased in this thing so I take all comments from there with a grain of salt sorry.

if you think that there will be something unpleasant when Armenia participates, you are biased, sorry. what do you expect from Azeris to do? they're gonna fight with Armenians??? I don't think so. if both sides have respect for each other, there won't be any problem for sure. ;)

Where did I say anything about fights? lol

I just answered a comment that I think politics is indeed involved and it's not so easy (whether we want it to be or not), that was more or less all.

I didn't say you had said something about fights. I just gave an example. ;) what I'm trying to say is that all Armenians and Azeris need to do is to stay calm during the contest. I don't understand Armenia in the issue tbh. what is the exact reason for their not wanting to go to Baku? maybe they are trying to get attention by saying '' We may not participate in Baku.'' sorry but that is what comes to my mind :?

The problem with the Armenians are that they are very afraid that something serious will happen to them before and during the event. I already said many times that Azeris don't really want the Armenians in the event for anything in the world, unless if the Armenians are prudent with the theme or will don't say nothing about the Nagomo-Karabakh occupation in the 3 weeks of the event for don't trun on a public spat, besides that ITV ensure 100% the safety in Azerbaijan from the first arrival of the Delegation & Fans to the Departure as well.

Maybe you should go and broker peace in Israel. I'm sure if you just went "Hey Hamas, Netanyahu, calm down!" it would all somehow resolve itself. Don't know why no one ever thought of doing that before.

Re: ARMENIA 2012

And the Drama Armenian continues (With Insults to Oikotimes)....

Sometimes we all understand the disputes governed by politics and social sentiment but it seems that the Armenians are going too far this time. Local media keep accusing Azerbaijan for lack of professionalism when they do their best to prove themselves the same.
Local media often claim that there are problems in Azerbaijan and EBU with the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest organization and they keep “thinking, negotiating and discussing” their participation in the next Eurovision edition demanding assurances for their safety!
The latest delirium comes from armenpress.am which claims that Iceland refused to participate in the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest when we all know that the 2012 national selection is underway! The funniest of all is that the source claim that Luxembourg seeks a proper excuse not to participate this year. Hello! Luxembourg is not participating in the contest for years now!
…and they were sad when hosting JESC 2011 they got Azeri refusal to participate!

Re: ARMENIA 2012

The event supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest, Sietse Baker, has revealed some details about next year’s event in an interview with Azeri news agency APA. He was reveals that was adressed the tensions between Armenia and Azerbaijan saying that Armenia’s participation can still not be confirmed. “Despite the challenges of Azerbaijani-Armenian relations, the Eurovision spirit is high throughout the Caucasus,” he told the agency referring to the preparations in Azerbaijan and Armenia’s hosting of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest this year. “It is our duty to keep the Eurovision Song Contest free from politics and bring people together, rather than focusing on what keeps them divided”.

He confirms that Armenia has requested special security measures which are still being discussed.

Re: ARMENIA 2012

No but when I say looser I don't speak about performances in Eurovision. I speak about racism, rejection and hate that Armenia is showing at the moment.
