One more thing: a Czech-Polish bloc?

Yes, that´s absurd too, isn´t it? :D But you know, for English speaking countries, our languages sound similar and we are neighbours, so that´s apparently enough for them to throw us in some "voting bloc". ;) I really doubt that average Czech TV viewer knows any other Polish performer than Ewa Farna (well, OK, the older ones could still remember Maryla R.).

Looks almost like She Who Cannot Be Named, aka Lady Voldemort.
And my previous post wasn't an intention to despise the Czechs. ;)

I just was not sure if Maryla´s surname is "Rodovicz" or "Rodowicz" and I was too lazy to google it. :) But no, at least two of her songs are actually still widely known here. But in a form of Czech cover versions by Marie Rottrová:

"Ballada wagonowa" as "Kůň bílý":

and "Malgoska" as "Markétka":

lilka How can two countries form a bloc? As if you were to give your 12 points to each other automatically... They don't know what to invent.

Ritararita You're right, a lot of people from Western countries think that countries past Austria are all the same. The fact that these people found some link between Czech Republic and Latvia for instance does not surprise me, even if it's silly and obviously not true. And those "journalists" should know that Latvia, Poland and Czech Republic have been voting in an unbiased way so far.

It's Rodowicz. ;) The Polish "w" sounds like "v" in English (and in Czech). And I love the lyrics of "Marketka", quite similar to the original. I can't help laughing though when I hear "divka".
Yeah, but we're drifting away from the topic again. :p

GRE I guess bloc voting is mainly for Scandinavia, ex-yu countries and ex-soviet countries. Hungary, Slovakia, Poland and Czech Republic seemed to vote fairly so far. Austria generally votes for Germany, Bosnia or Serbia. I don't remember Slovenia's voting pattern. Central Europe is thankfully too heterogeneous to form a new bloc.

Yes, this could be a new block voting in the near future.
Hell yes! Today Eurovision, tomorrow the World! ;) But no, not really. I agree with lilka. Moreover, I don´t think that Slovakia would let us to be "best friends forever" with someone else. :(

The thing is also complicated because we're Best Friends Forever with Hungary. Slovakia, well...doesn't like Hungary I guess. And Slovakia is Best Friends Forever with the Czech Republic.

Well, that´s really complicated. But maybe I know a person who could be able to unite whole central Europe! Vica Kerekes is Slovak-born Hungarian actress, working mostly in Czech Republic. Few days ago I read in some newspaper that she´s going to star in two new films, one of them Austrian, the other one Polish. :) However, I am not sure if she is known also in Germany and I don´t think she can sing, so it´s probably off-topic. Sorry. :D

Will you give us your dwanaście punktów too? Then we can make the deal.
