Her accent is so bad that, for the sake of comprehension, she could as well leave it in albanian. xshrug
Still, one of the best entries of this year.

Bad accent but I don't mind the English version.

My 7 points remain unchanged!

I gave it 6 points.
Nice to listen, but if her English is that bad, she shouldn't sing in English!

Such a stupid senseless move, and it's not as if they weren't warned either. Video is also disappointing as Albania usually presents pretty neat, tasteful ones. This one is very unimaginative, almost going tacky-ish.
Song remains intact though (of course I never expected the intro to stay), melody is all there, lyrics are still fairly mysterious, but charm and sincerity are gone.

This is the issue when they are so blinded by their own delusion and won't even listen to fans reactions, I really hope they recorded a revamped version with Albanian aswell and re-consider this option and choose that instead. It's not too late!

I don't understand almost anything :? I'm sorry, but it should have stayed in Albanian. It was more special and meaningful.

I wish I could wake up from this bad dream and there would be a studio version with a magnificent orchestral arrangement xcry

I feel ya! I don't understand why people are so upset with the language. Yes, her pronunciation is pretty bad, but the real issue is with the music imo. They should have kept the piano and given it more strings. Instead they made it sound flatter :(

The music video is just ridiculous. Haven't seen something that amateurish in a while tbh. But after all this is still my number 1 because from a compositional point of view nothing can beat this imo.

Because language is part of the music? I don't understand people who can't hear that tbh... I mean otherwise songs would be just instrumental or sung in imaginary languages xshrug

All languages have their own linguistic "melodies" and sounds and obviously that effects when sung aswell...

It's so odd, her accent gradually becomes better as the song goes along

I do like this version more than the original, the arrangement is fantastic. They should have kept it in Albanian though since I don't understand what she says either way (harsh)

First of all, I don't agree that language is such a big part of music. That's just my opinion.
Second, do you hear any melodic differences between the english and albanian versions? I don't. It's trivial matter in this case. Let's just focus on the music for heaven's sake.

I focus on the music "for heaven's sake", but since you don't hear (or seem to appreciate different languages) I guess you don't see it as part of the music... each to their own I guess although I'm surprised by this mindset amongst EUROvision fans tbh xshrug

Well I'm sorry but changing a language to me changes a song, because those linguistic melodic characteristics and sounds are replaced by a complete different language... I actually don't "get" how people simply can't hear that xshrug

Anyhow, of course changing instrumentals etc. also influences, but I don't separate the languages used from the musical point of view, which unfortunately alot of people seem to do xshrug

To be frank, if it was the Swedish entry and it would have been sung in Swedish but translated to English and people would say that it didn't bother them (or even applauded the change) I'd take it as if they view my language as useless xshrug

They really shouldn´t have changed the lyrics to English.
The Albanian version wasn´t one of my favorites, but at least it was something special because it was in their own language. Now it´s one of many songs, but not a special one any more imo.

Unlike Iceland, Albania just destroyed the song with english, i'm keeping my 12 points because i love the melody, but i'm also keeping albanian version in my playlist, not downloading the new one.

They still got the chance to change to the Albanian version right? Please Albania, really change to an Albanian version if you revamped it in Albanian aswell!

But we don't know what they submitted yet ;)

Would they really go through the trouble of filming a video for the "English" version, releasing it only a few days ago and then reconsider in the end anyway? It doesn't seem very likely to me :/
