Out of the 13 selected so far, all but 3 will make it onto my playlist. I think this year will be great. Not as good as last year but 2014 was the best contest of recent times so that's not saying much

We have the possibility of Opera Skaala (Finland), Fahrenhaidt (Germany), Aminata (Latvia) and obviously Elina & Stig (Estonia) joining.

Also the latest additions with Maria (Iceland), Il Volo (Italy) and Bojana (Serbia) made it into my top 6. It's in fact a good year with many above average songs, just not THE one/s standing out.

And NO WAY 2014 was worse than 2013. Absolutely.no.way.

Opinions eh? For me, 2013 blew 2014 out of the water. Not to say that 2013 was a vintage year, more that 2014 was utter shit.

I don't have a strong favorite yet, and I didn't at this time in 2013 either, but I guess most years even out eventually. I received my favorite song of the season very early in 2014, and that made the year seem like it was off to a better start than usual. When 2014 was over, I counted the entries that I preferred for each country compared to 2013, expecting 2014 to have the advantage, and it was practically half and half.

I remember this discussion last year around the same time.

We've had less than a 1/3 of the entries. Countries that usually deliver the goods most years (Sweden, Norway, Germany, Russia, Azerbaijan) are yet to come too so it'll improve.. that or Italy's won

Definitely siding with people who preferred 2014 over 2013 here. I don't think 2013 was particularly bad, but it reminded me largely of 2011 - a lot of decent songs, very few great songs. There was one obvious winning song from the start (with Norway perhaps having a chance as well), but for the most part it was full of songs I'd rate 7/12. Last year had four countries (Austria, Armenia, Sweden, UK) that I'd have been happy to see taking the win. I must say I preferred the language distribution in 2013 though: I've been looking into language use in recent Eurovision recently, and last year was a huge jump down in the levels of non-English languages. Specifically we only had 6 bilingual songs last year, and 3 in national languages (compared to 1 bilingual but 16 national languages in 2013). Hopefully we can keep the quality levels of last year but with more language variety!

Well that's your opinion, it's not really a scheme. I'd hardly call 2010 "A really good year"
