Re: ???????? - Armenia 2010 - Eva Rivas - Apricot Stone

The counting of the voting was monitored by Grant Thornton Amyot Audit Organization on behalf of Armenian Public Television and InterMob CJSC. Voting was possible from phones of three operators of cell networks: Beeline, Vivacell and Orange. Armenian national broadcaster ArmTV has yet to publish official voting results, however, it is known that professional jury of the national preselection, formed by Ministry of Culture of Armenia has given first place to Emmy and Mihran, second to Eva Rivas, third to Ani Arzumanyan and
fourth to Razmik Amyan.

Founder of "InterMob" Norayr Mkhoyan in conversation with Aysor said that the SMS connection has been provided solely by mobile operators, while his company had only to follow the process of delivery of SMS-messages to their destinations. "Our experts are currently conducting an analysis, but what has likely caused loss of some SMS was the overall network congestion", he said, promising to give a more complete response after further analysis.

In her turn, the press secretary of the company "Orange" Lilit Martirosyan, said to Aysor, that during the whole day of yesterday, as well as at the time of voting cell network of company "Orange" has worked without any interference and restrictions. According to her, some problems have arisen only in part of a sending of confirmation reports on the delivery of messages.

After Rivas was declared the winner of the contest, Emmy and Mihran have immediately left the stage showing disagreement with the result. In short time, they were followed by Razmik Amyan, while fans of those singers have started leaving the hall. At a press conference following the show, Rivas's producer Valery Saharian brushed aside the rival allegations of foul play.

"One should also be able to accept a defeat in a dignified
manner," the Moscow-based producer told RFE / RL in a clear reference to the reaction that came from Emmy's team. "Let's rally around the winner," added Saharian.

PR-manager of Eva Rivas Hayk Markosian, commenting on the situation said to "Armenia Today", that he also had some difficulties with sending SMSes, but the claims in this regard should be held to the organizers of the show. He noted that producers of Emmy and Migran indeed have the right to take whatever steps they wish, but "we should not forget that the situation is under big attention in other countries as well" "This sort of behavior is incorrect," he added.

At the same time, on the English-speaking Eurovision messageboards vast majority of visitors were in favor of the track "Apricot Stone", performed by Eva Rivas, noting that it is fitting Eurovision format and has non-standard lyrics.

In particular, presentation of the song "Hey" of Emmy and Mihran has also received a lot of negative opinions as for the song being too "American", as well as pointing out on the problems with a vocal of female member of the duet.

Re: ???????? - Armenia 2010 - Eva Rivas - Apricot Stone

According to oikotimes:

Armenian singer Eva Rivas hints so-called “Armenian genocide” in her song chosen for Eurovision 2010, said Turkish composer Yagoub Mutlu, who participated at the Armenian national selection final concert, APA reports quoting Anatolian news agency.
Mutlu, who has attentively watched Eurovision contests since 2003, said that Rivas’ “Apricot Stone” hinted 1915 events. “I am not an enemy of Armenians, but “Apricot Stone” is a song beaten about the bush”.
The composer said first couplet of the song – “Many, many years ago when I was a little child, our world is cruel and wild, but to make your way through cold and heat love is all that you need” - reminded about deportation of Armenians by Ottoman Empire in 1915 and ways they have passed.
He said the word “motherland” in the following couplet – “Apricot stone, I will drop it down in the frozen ground I’ll just let it make its round Apricot stone, hidden in my hand given back to me from the motherland” - meant Turkish territories and “Now I see the northern stars shining brightly in the storm and I’ve got an avatar of my love to keep me warm now I’m not afraid of violent winds they may blow they can’t win” also kept a message to Turkey. In his opinion, the meaning of the couplet “May the winter stay away form my harvest night and day may God bless and keep my cherished fruit grow me tree up to the sky once I waved my home goodbye I just wanna go back to my roots” is also clear.
Eurovision rules ban to perform political songs at the contest.

First of all he has to have a huge imagination to produce all these sh*ts  I kinda know him and he was supporting Emmy & Mihran, he also claimed that they're close friends with Emmy. But he's not even a composer at all he just makes sth amateurishly. It may be another tricks which Emmy and her BBF (!) planned after the shocking failure :D
The only thing makes sense is that the most famous apricots grow in Malatya in Turkey which is an old Armenian city. There's nothing to prove his all these silly words at all. This one will rock the stage in Oslo

Some people can have intepretations of everything, solely regarding their own interest, LOL! As if I said "I want to eat a hamburger" and somebody figured out I wanted to say "War against Americans".

There were shared lots of Emmy & Mihran's blaming statements. What's wrong with me sharing another one?

DoctorX ,totally agree with you.one should have a huge imagination
to find what isn;t exist.

Eva sing's in her somg of her longing to motherland.
She (according) in her song has never been in her motherland, but Mother often told her about it

it isn't a song only for Armenians.it could be a song of any
emmigrant living abrod , and who longes for his country.
for example, for turks , arabs , kurds , anyone

for us it's an apricot that symbolise Armenia, for others it maybe
strawbery or whatelse :)

I think he was referring to ****times
they like such "entertaining" articles which are usually absed on c--p

Anyway, I agree with Qele about the meaning of the song. It's clearly about immigrants, imo.
And just like Matt I'm tired of different conspiracies and stories that involve everything but music :|

Re: ???????? - Armenia 2010 - Eva Rivas - Apricot Stone

The last song presented was the winner of the competition on ESC 2010. "Apricot stone" is the title of the winning song. This song is a story.

Eva Rivas, who is very beautiful was in a white impressive dress. She's wearing a long white dress, while she has two backing vocalists, a piano on stage, a flutist and a guitarist accompanying her in this great performance.

A strong ballad start for the song, which is being turned to a fast, catchy tune!

Aged 13, participated in the Delphic Games where I won the silver medal. In 2005, at age of 16,I was a participant of the festival Song of the Year of Armenia, which is held annually in Moscow, where took first place.

Many, many years ago, when I was a little child
Mama told me you should know our world is cruel and wild
But to make your way through cold and heat
Love is all that you need

I believed her every word, more than anything I heard
But I was too scared to lose my fun
I began to cry a lot and she gave me apricots
Kisses of the earth, fruits of the sun

Apricot stone, hidden in my hand
Given back to me from the motherland
Apricot stone, I will drop it down in the frozen ground
I’ll just let it make its round

Apricot stone, hidden in my hand
Given back to me from the motherland
Apricot stone

Now I see the Northern stars shining brightly in the storm
And I’ve got an avatar of my love to keep me warm
Now I’m not afraid of violent winds
They may blow – they can’t win

May the winter stay away from my harvest night and day
May God bless and keep my cherished fruit
Grow my tree up to the sky, once I waved my home goodbye
I just want to go back to my roots

Apricot stone, hidden in my hand
Given back to me from the motherland
Apricot stone, I will drop it down in the frozen ground
I’ll just let it make its round

Apricot stone, hidden in my hand
Given back to me from the motherland
Apricot stone, hidden in my hand
Given back to me from the motherland
Apricot stone
