Re: ???????? - Armenia 2010 - Eva Rivas - Apricot Stone
The counting of the voting was monitored by Grant Thornton Amyot Audit Organization on behalf of Armenian Public Television and InterMob CJSC. Voting was possible from phones of three operators of cell networks: Beeline, Vivacell and Orange. Armenian national broadcaster ArmTV has yet to publish official voting results, however, it is known that professional jury of the national preselection, formed by Ministry of Culture of Armenia has given first place to Emmy and Mihran, second to Eva Rivas, third to Ani Arzumanyan and
fourth to Razmik Amyan.
Founder of "InterMob" Norayr Mkhoyan in conversation with Aysor said that the SMS connection has been provided solely by mobile operators, while his company had only to follow the process of delivery of SMS-messages to their destinations. "Our experts are currently conducting an analysis, but what has likely caused loss of some SMS was the overall network congestion", he said, promising to give a more complete response after further analysis.
In her turn, the press secretary of the company "Orange" Lilit Martirosyan, said to Aysor, that during the whole day of yesterday, as well as at the time of voting cell network of company "Orange" has worked without any interference and restrictions. According to her, some problems have arisen only in part of a sending of confirmation reports on the delivery of messages.
After Rivas was declared the winner of the contest, Emmy and Mihran have immediately left the stage showing disagreement with the result. In short time, they were followed by Razmik Amyan, while fans of those singers have started leaving the hall. At a press conference following the show, Rivas's producer Valery Saharian brushed aside the rival allegations of foul play.
"One should also be able to accept a defeat in a dignified
manner," the Moscow-based producer told RFE / RL in a clear reference to the reaction that came from Emmy's team. "Let's rally around the winner," added Saharian.
PR-manager of Eva Rivas Hayk Markosian, commenting on the situation said to "Armenia Today", that he also had some difficulties with sending SMSes, but the claims in this regard should be held to the organizers of the show. He noted that producers of Emmy and Migran indeed have the right to take whatever steps they wish, but "we should not forget that the situation is under big attention in other countries as well" "This sort of behavior is incorrect," he added.
At the same time, on the English-speaking Eurovision messageboards vast majority of visitors were in favor of the track "Apricot Stone", performed by Eva Rivas, noting that it is fitting Eurovision format and has non-standard lyrics.
In particular, presentation of the song "Hey" of Emmy and Mihran has also received a lot of negative opinions as for the song being too "American", as well as pointing out on the problems with a vocal of female member of the duet.
