Instead, I would create regional juries 😃 Each Spanish region, as nations do in the Eurovision Song Contest, chooses its 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. The points add up and the artists have the jury vote. As well as being fairer, because everyone doesn't reflect with the same judgement, it is more engaging and generates surprises. This jury vote is 33% of the final value. Then there is a second jury where the main newspapers vote. The vote of the press room is worth 33% of the final result. Finally, the public vote which is worth 34%. For the public, however, we need a lower cost in televoting and the creation of special apps. Furthermore, Benidorm Fest should avoid mentioning the ESC but enhance its identity and start at a decent time. Some users said that for Spanish standards it's early... My girlfriend didn't see the semi-finals and didn't vote. I only saw the second semi-final. We were only able to enjoy the final. The next day people have to work and not everyone can stay up late (unless you want to wake up like a zombie). I conclude that I would like to involve other people hispano-hablantes. A competition before the Benidorm Fest decrees 3 wild cards to participate in the semi-finals 😃 Thus the interest in the Benidorm Fest from the global public expands and consequently the ESC would also gain. The interest of overseas record labels and collaborations between Spanish and Latin artists would also increase (which is ultimately what matters because it is our reference market). All small stratagems that will lead the most famous artists to choose to join the Benidorm Fest. There's a lot of potential. You just need to know how to manage. We would need an artistic director like Amadeus.

It's not only a problem of numbers. The jury stays the whole week together in Benidorm and is influenced by that.

It's no wonder how the result ended in a tie. They were all on the same page: two candidates, for half of them Nebulossa 1st, st. Pedro 2nd, for the other half the opposite. Power to the people, we enjoyed our winter holidays.

A professional jury that can't act professionally no longer makes any sense.

I don't think the jury should be banned completely. Just modified a bit.
We need the juries. No jury no Chanel, or Mahmoud with Soldi right? Instead of them Rigoberta and Ultimo, another story and I think you agree with me.
I've written so many time but I do believe in our sanremese
voting system, I think is the most perfect one. Thousands of journalists, tv&radio&web music operators of all genres guarantee a high standard judgment. And the televoters complete it.

I do want juries, I'm not against them, I just say having 4, 6 8 or 30 doesn't really matter if they are in the arena, they live together for a week and they have no clear criteria to follow.

To me juries should be far from the arena and ideally have little interaction between them. Not because of some kind of conspiracy, just because if you talk about the acts every day for a week you will end up sharing views rather than giving the expertise we are demanding from them.

RTVE could easily divide the jury vote in 25%-25% for the final, 25% the spanish judges in the arena and 25% the international judges that could just video call from their homes, that's what they do in other countries.
Also it must be said, there's no need for an international jury vote in the semifinals and if the free app can increase the amount of people that vote in 2025 they could do a 100% televote semifinal in 2026.

Nebulossa enters the top 10 on Spotify Spain (#8), with more than 340k in one day.
Brillos Platino and Amor the verano are the other 2 which manage to enter the top 200.

This is a step forward compared to 2023, but less impressive than in 2022, with Terra, Ay Mamá and SloMo.

However, entering this charts in Spain with the HUGE amount of latinamerican music is already a success. So great for these 3 who entered the charts!

There was a band called Fado Bicha in the portuguese nf back in 2022, "bicha" does translate to "faggot", had they won the nf EBU would have to allow them to compete because you can't censor the name of a band.
Also to be noted that due to Portugal mostly sending songs in portuguese it's possible that one of the songs in the past or that one day in the future there will be a song with the word "curva" in the lyrics. In portuguese "curva" it means "curve", but it some countries in eastern europe kurva means slut. Will EBU ask the portuguese singer to not sing curva when and if that happens? I do wonder...

Takasa from Switzerland 2013 were forced to change the name of their entries group from Heilsarmee (Salvation Army basically) because it broke the rules. It's a different case but the EBU will force a group to change their name if needed.

@RainyWoods I completely forgot about that entry - I think I haven't listened to it ever since (I already heavily disliked it when it competed at Eurovision) - you're right!

Dunno, personally, I don't think that "Zorra" is really that bad (when it comes to the "insult"/"slur") but I just don't like the EBU changing their own rules.
Even if it's meant as some sort of empowerment - I will not complain about it any further or demonstrate in front of the EBU's headquarter, haha - just pointing out how arbitrary they can be (especially when it comes to Big 5 countries).

"Zorra", however, has grown on me massively - I will definitely have to change my vote - it's catchy and I liked the studio version/official music video.

I was afraid of the EBU censoring the song but I'm happy they'll allow it to be performed as it is. I read Nebulossa is recording anytime soon English and Swedish versions, so we may see a language blend in Malmö.
