So, 45 years of Yaponesia have passed, and as we draw ever closer to our big 50th anniversary, for NSC 52 we celebrated our fourth 10-edition Congratulations NF, featuring the 10 most recent artists sent by Yaponesia, between NSC 42 and NSC 51 Thank you again to everyone who participated!!! The winner has now been decided...

Psapp was Yaponesia's NSC 43 entrant, with the song "Hi". The result in the semifinal was far from high though; we finished 24th out of 25 with a reduced 8 points, thanks to a timing error and non-vote from the Yaponesian delegation However, this didn't deter Psapp from participating a second time :x If anything, they deserve the second chance more than anyone, because of the unfortunate screw-up last time!

10 editions later, Psapp will perform The Monster Song in Zoidiac. Apparently, the song is a sad song about loss and depression; it's the morning after the big night before, when the green eyed monster is lurking around every corner, just waiting to pounce. Ultimately though, the song has a charming, cheerful, but slightly disturbing theme... hope you enjoy!

Yesung - THE TRAP OF THE NORTH GATE (Bugmun-ui Deoch)
Yaponesia debuted in NSC 6, the birth of the semifinal era, and in the company of 9 other nations That debut was precisely 50 editions ago, which means NSC 55 marks Yaponesia's 50th year in the Nation Song Contest!!! BUT, this is not quite our golden anniversary, as we skipped one edition in our history Our big 50th entry will be revealed next edition, in the golden NSC 56 Nevertheless, we thought it appropriate to mark this 50th year with something epic, dramatic, and er... violent... :twisted:

Namhansanseong is a 2009 Korean musical set in the Qing dynasty, about the Korean fortress (Namhansanseong) which was used to defend the Koreans from the Chinese. Here, Yesung (real name Kim Jong Woon) plays the villain, Jun Myeong Soo. I don't know much about the plot, but basically, Trap of the North Gate is about his violent attack on the Koreans. It's all very lovely ^^

So, at last, Yaponesia, between our debut in NSC 6, and our most recent entry in NSC 56, has sent 50 entries and reached the golden anniversary.

Hand in hand, we've always been ready to go, with secret smiles of monkey magic. We left what we never loved anyway waiting, and sent entry after entry like butterflies in a kaleidoscope, adventurers with passions for tunak-tunak-travelling the world, everlasting, and fundamentally, it was never over. Some times were like beer; beer in a cardboard city. Others were like banana chips cherished by a little brother, but we were never forsaken, didn't treat those chips like sambanana, and didn't succumb to valentine jealousy. For Yaponesia, it was always nice weather for ducks; our auntie Monika would practically give us heart fire, electrifying us with sugar water, like Bendik and Arolilja making frogs smoke til they exploded. To get to Anatolia, it was just a light flight for this disco dancer, if he shut up and didn't look back in anger. The azure valley reflects the celebratory feelings of the cocoon, whose greetings like Hi float dangerously on the wind beneath the wings of a glowing eagle. Regardless of whether there have been pheaks or snaehs, bullets or poems, we'll always forgive (and you have my apology). But now, we're reaching infinity. A symphony of psalms will overpower the song of monsters. A love for rock n roll will quell the shark's tooth. It is only after braving the trap of the north gate, that we can look back on what was long ago...
