Re: UNITED KINGDOM 2018

The selection is decent... My current ranking based on the studio versions is:

1. Asanda - Legends
2. Jaz Ellington - You
3. RAYA - Crazy
4. SuRie - Storm
5. Liam Tamne - Astronaut
6. Goldstone - I Feel The Love

Not sure who’ll win, given a decent performance they all have a chance... Does anyone else get Poli Genova vibes from Crazy?

Listening to the songs again...where is the diversity of sound? William from wiwi made a good point when he said "Legends" felt like a "London" song. And it is. In fact, they all are. How about musical influences from different parts of the UK? North of England, Wales, Scotland, N.I etc. There is a rich music culture to be explored, but instead the BBC go with the usual beige nonsense.

Anyone else see some similarities in Surie "Storm" and Ben Plus One "Rainy Day In Summer"?

or am I just drunk and hearing things?

Nothing like putting the pressure on. I'm excited, but expecting us to pick the worse. It's strange there is no news on the voting system, there was news some time back we were getting a scoreboard results, but how will they do it. international Jury or a national jury with Bruno being over dramatic and Sophie Ellis-Baxtor making a load of sly comments over eurovision stereotypes, or none at all and just a public vote?

Didn't they already do that based on the 6 songs available? Surely a country with the talent that the UK could give higher quality and more diverse songs than this?

I'm assuming Asanda will win? Not the worst choice (Goldstone) but not the best. At least we know from last year UK are actually getting better at polishing the proverbial turd.

I just wish they were transparent with the results instead of just announcing the winner. That's incredibly annoying.

I actually think I read somewhere that the BBC will reveal the full results, but I may be wrong

That would be a step forward if that's the case, but the BBC aren't exactly known for their transparency.

Re: UNITED KINGDOM 2018

With the selection on Wednesday, my 3 favourites in the UK selection (after much debate with myself) are:

Asanda - ''Legends''
Jaz Ellington - ''You''
SuRie - ''Storm''

Although, whichever is chosen is in need of a revamp, imho :)

It's a bit repetitive, but I really like Raya's "Crazy". The beat is quite captivating and made me tap my toes, which is a good sign I guess (well, it was the only reaction I had from this selection of songs, not really convinced by the others).

I think it's their policy to not reveal the results in anything, which is totally ridiculous and highly questionable to its legitimacy, even though we have authoritative organisations that ensure fair play in these things. There is no sense at all they keep the results a secret unless they knew people would be annoyed, like the jury totally trashing over the public vote. I hope they do reveal it as the results are all part of the fun of a NF for me.

Can't wait for the BBC to host Eurovision their way:

**interval act ends**

"Ok, we've got the results, but ain't nobody got time for that. The new Eurovision winner is San Marino! See you there! Bye!"

**end of the show**

Re: UNITED KINGDOM 2018

In the meantime I often listened to "Feel the Love", so would be satisfied with "Feel the love" or "Legends" winning on Wednesday :-)
But UK´s chances in Lisbon should be better with "Legends".

I can't make up my mind which song I like best this year, I think ill have to go with Legends, however, I do like Crazy and Storm too, but I think legends stands the best chance in Lisbon.

I assumed it would be this actually, as it was the same order they did their rehearsals in that was posted onto Instagram and Twitter. It seems kinda odd to me to have two ballad style songs together and then two more uptempo songs together, I'd switch Liam and RAYA round tbh.

Re: UNITED KINGDOM 2018

Our Panelist was announced: https://eurovoix.com/2018/02/06/united-kingdom-decide-panelists-revealed/

They are:

Rylan Clark: Professional nobody and all round annoying talentless camera hog
Rochelle Humes: Was a member of the highly successful girl group 'The Saturdays'. I like her and love the sats. xheat
Tom Fletcher: Member of the long dead group McFly, who were super popular here well over a decade ago.

Ok, while Rylan xpuke is there, I don't think he will have Bruno dramatics so that is a huge step up, as he and CeCe totally ruined our NF last year with their 'YAAAAAAAAAAS IT WAS GREAT' *shouts and flares arms* dramatics. Also it's a very young panelist for the BBC, the oldest is only 32, and the other 29 and 28. I think this will only bode well for Raya and Asanda imo, as I imagine Asanda getting on well with Rylan if her interview with Wiwibloggs is anything to go by. As well as that, him and Rochelle are very pop-centric artsts, just look at the saturdays discography with all the pop and dance in it. Tom Fletcher I haven't a clue, I guess he'll like the astronaut song.
