Rylan, what the hell? He's going to be the one that says "That's so Eurovision!", isn't he?

Tomorrow at 19:30 on BBC 2.

I know it's on TV tomorrow but seen a few people on Facebook groups posting about going to the Dome tonight though...

Maybe a rehearsal or something? Surely it's gotta be live tomorrow if televoting is included, which I presume it is xthink

That's strange, I'm guessing they could be doing rehearsals tonight or.... there's something they aren't telling us.

Well it has a public vote so it can't be pre-recorded. They probably getting there to queue early to get the best space.

edit: they had rehearsal a today, Asanda posted on her instagram 2 hours ago about a soundcheck, so maybe going to that.

I would put my money on a RAYA victory tomorrow. To me it seems like the entry most likely to pull in support from both Eurofans and just general viewers who don't have a great interest in Eurovision.

I think it just shows how badly the BBC don't care about the credibility of Eurovision... They are having Rylan as a panel member... Eurovision fans try and promote Eurovision as a modern contest with good music and is no longer pure cheese... Then Rylan turns up and we have no argument

Go Asanda!! She's the one that I think will pull off the best performance based on the studio versions. Now watch the live vocal be a car crash

Considering the slim pickings, I agree that Raya would probably be the best choice if you're looking for an escape from the bottom 5, but I think the fan hype will pull Asanda over the line.

Re: UNITED KINGDOM 2018

I want Asanda to win just to see what would happen for us with an entry like that. It's what quite a chunk of UK fans have been asking for since the dawn of time, and it would be our first time in ages sending something loud and bold. I'm not even it's biggest fan (though I don't dislike it) but i'd like to see us take this chance as I honestly don't think we're missing out on anything special with any of the others. RAYA's song is fine, but it's just that. "Legends" leaves a mark whether the person likes or hates it. If the performance is competent then I think it's an extremely clear and easy choice. Knowing us though, we'll probably pick "Astronaut". I wouldn't mind as it's tolerable, but damn, let's go bold for once. Asanda needs to win this.

All the six songs scream flop tbh. I'm not into the fan-favourite Asanda, that song is a mess, not only the noise from the sounding effects( is there a horn or an old sick lion roaring? It brought me back memories of Waka Waka, how fresh!) but her voice, it's just cringy. Perhaps the staging could save it a bit if it visually distracts you from the actual song, but being a UK entry that's unlikely to happen.
Not crazy about Raya... but Crazy might be the safest choice. The others wouldn't be much worse, so whatever UK choose tonight shouldn't be a drama.

Totally agree with this. Tbh I think the Legends band wagon has just been people convincing themselves that it's good, rather than it actually being good. In a year's time people will be all why was I hyped about that lol. I can't remember the song at all bar the strange noises you mention, so it's definitely not memorable, and when I do listen to it I don't like it lol. Although I am supporting Astronaut, Crazy I am quite happy to settle for.

I think whatever we choose we will be on the second half of the scoreboard because to me it really is the least enthusing NF selection we've ever had since 2004.

Re: UNITED KINGDOM 2018

Funny how Eurovision splits opinion... for every person saying this is a weak national final there is someone saying it's very strong... comes down to taste I guess, and I feel Eurovision does manage to still be somewhat unpredictable... so who knows!

I thought this was a good selection, but I'm into the kind of pop the songs fall into. However let's not forget how divisive last year's winner was!

Coming up to the final I think we take a chance on either Legends, Crazy or You. Whichever nails the live performance the most. I think Legends has the potential to be memorable, commanding and fun - and is my favourite. Done right the UK could get its best result for some time. It stood out for me at the start and still does. Crazy has a chance, but I still think it's the same minute repeated three times, whereas Legends goes places. You is a very competent song and well performed may be far from boring.

The others are all fine to me too, I'm just not convinced as much with any of them, but we'll see how the performances go, you never know!

Excited for tonight - I just hope we select the best live package!

To be fair we have finished on the second half of the score board for the last 7 years in eurovision so nothing changes there.
