Jamala is the 2nd juror.

Wait a sec, they said there will be a new judges

ps. The Voice influence is huge. It seems 1+1 channel is going to have a say in the outcome.

Just heard on the radio that Margaret will be in MF. She will be smashed there, she can't sing... Now I hope we will send Michał Szpak again and he'll be higher than she :d

Ukraine wishes success to Poland whoever represents it! xcheer

AlekS who is the first juror then? Meladze again... This is mess. He definitely is person that I like the least of all juries. That crappy shade on Jamala at after-ESC talk show when he regretted about juries made mistakes but it sounded exactly like "We are sorry that Jamala was selfish bitch". Go talk your shit elsewhere, man! I don't want them to get rid of Danylko, his commentaries are fun and on point. Jamala is okay. On the other hand I don't have in mind somebody competent as candidate for jury chair.... Ruslana is awful and always makes drama, Zlata's level is not polished enough for such repsonsible kind of event, Tina Karol is 1+1 slave, Ani Lorak is.. buy gurl  Btw did she fly back to Moscow home after that unexpected appearance on Kyiv concert? I don't hear news about her anymore...

I believe Danylko has already been announced as the first juror.

And you best not come after Ruslana. Thanks to her we got Jamala in 2016.

seems that danylko is the "confirmed" judge but idk for sure. love your review of ani lorak and tina karol lmao. tina also hates any other females that could compete with her as queen of the music industry. but honestly i have no idea who the third judge will be.

AlekS we need more news. vidbir stuff is so slow ughhhh.

Re: UKRAINE 2018

Thank Gawd we have Jamala this year because... STB has just posted about Melovin's comeback right on their Eurovision site, what a shameless promotion

Thankfully Jamala dislikes him very much so she will oppose Verka/Danilko again.

The 3rd juror will be someone new. It's not Meladze nor Kvinta. Wondering if it's Vinnyk or Kamenskih :?

The first one is Danilko. It hasn't been announced yet but STB asked him and he agreed.
Tina is having concerts all over Ukraine in February so she won't be there for sure.
Lorak had a shooting at the Inter channel and yeah... hopefully she departed to Russia

Slow? We are kinda lucky! We already know the dates, the new boss , the venue, the tickets info, almost all jurors and some performers. For instance Moldova has zero info.

I bet STB knows that so the conclusion is: Melovin on Vidbir is just for additional ratings. And maybe a bit of drama and tense. Unless third juror will push him hard.

1) I don't think Kvinta will put Melovin automatically......I think Kvinta has his own list of good Ukrainian acts that he wants to see
2) I hope Jamala kills all these basic artists such as Melovin and Mountain Breeze lol
3) I hope there is a daring choice for the third judge

I would like someone like The Maneken for the third judge. But wasn't there talk about there being four judges, or am I making it up?

Re: UKRAINE 2018

As much I love some The Erised creations (like "Even If", "Interlude", "Let Me Be"), I find most of their music lacking identity. Would be pretty interested to see them on NF though.

Re: UKRAINE 2018

STB channel started "Who would you like to see at Eurovision?" poll with STB-associated performers only:

MELOVIN
Anastasia Kamenskih (NK)
Bez Obmezhen'
KAZKA
Yurcash

I take it as their own choices for the NF. Usually STB is being represented by 2-3 performers in the semis.
I dislike all of them  NK's first single flopped so I hope this is not the English version.

The top 3:

Anastasia Kamenskih - 29%
MELOVIN - 29%
KAZKA - 21%

ps. MELOVIN Yurcash €€€

tbh I liked the NK single. from these 5 names, I would like Bez Obmezhen, KAZKA and possibly NK. but overall I'm unsure who will enter this year because last year's lineup surprised me alot.

Anastasiya Kamenskih got the whole package out of these, I wouldn't mind her in ESC (depending on the entry of course). I'm not so sure about the statement that her single can be considered a "flop" though? I think it's a bit too early to tell, considering it just got recently released, already has almost 6mm views on YT (after just a month) and also due to the fact that Ukraine lacks good measurements in music to determine success (few people buy music in general, the official streaming market seems still not used by a significant enough number of people, and also not sure if even the most "reliable" radio airplay chart provided by FDR is really that reliable in the first place?). Also she decided to go Russian with her first proper solo single, and considering the current language law in Ukraine there is a sharp decline in Russian language hits and a shift towards a new generation of Ukrainian language artists and Ukrainian language songs, so it seems if you want to have a proper hit in Ukraine these days, Russian is not the safest choice. Although I do agree with you that English wouldn't help, the song itself is ok imo but lacks something, I'd rather see another entry if she plans to enter.

If KAZKA would send anything as good as "Sviata" is a big yes for me, unfortunately they aren't really the best live act and they come across as a bit awkward (not in the good sense)

Melovin is a big NO NO for me, if Ukraine aims for a similar position as in 2017, then sure go ahead pick him...

I dunno who Yurcash is but Bez Obmezhen could be interesting (again depending on the song).

Re: UKRAINE 2018

Yeah, I'm not sure I'd label NK's single as a flop. It's doing well on YT, and just debuted on the FDR chart at number 15. Not sure what other measurements you'd use, but based on what we have, seems to be doing fine. I was kind of surprised she went for a Russian-language song as her first single. I agree with you, A-lister, these days, it kinda seems safer to release a Ukrainian song if you want it to be a hit in Ukraine, so maybe Nastia has plans to target the Russian market. As far as the song goes, it's grown on me, but she could've done better. And I don't know that it's right for ESC.

Bez Obmezhen (aka Without Limits), as much as I love them, have no chance this year, imo. After O.Torvald, I can't see Ukraine going for a rock band any time soon.

KAZKA and Melovin are both unproven. KAZKA's Svyata is glorious, but do they have it in them to write something equally good? Melovin has yet to record anything with hit potential. I remain skeptical about both of them.

If Yurcash participates, it'll surely be something in Ukrainian. He's on this season's X-Factor and seems to be the fan favorite, so I can see him getting the televotes in the NF. However, I don't know how he'd do at ESC. He seems like a very internal act to me.
