Re: UKRAINE 2018

Is Tayanna planning to take part again, perhaps with a song from her new EP?

The EP is generally good, unfortunately Shkoda is too old to be eligible, but I think Kvitka could be a nice contender.

Re: UKRAINE 2018

^ Kvitka has already been performed on a child fest this summer. Ruslan Kvinta was in the jury there btw. She performed it at the 2nd (smaller) stage but he is aware of that.
+ it's published on her own instagram and she knows the rules perfectly.

I get it, but is she planning to take part all this time around? Any rumors?

Re: UKRAINE 2018

No idea. There are minor hints here and there but I prefer to think that she will try next time.

Kvinta has just revealed his fave song from the album ... the title song. We both chose the same song :D
But it's really not a Eurovision material imo.
If she decides to take part in the NF the song will be reworked.

I don't see a winning song on Tayanna's CD. It's nice but nothing good enough for ESC. Nothing even as good as I Love You.

Re: UKRAINE 2018

Every song from the album is better than "I Love You" imo. Even slutty Літо and cliché ESC ballad Сила.

She's in the UK studio, probably recording the English version of the album.

IMO literary EVERYTHING on her EP is MILES above "I Love You" (which is just a very average unoriginal ballad that we always get a handful of in ESC every year and that brings literary nothing to the contest). Sure it's all about different taste, but I don't get the love for that one, it's simply so average, atleast the Russian version added some linguistic flavor to it, but also that one was pretty flat.

I do agree though that most songs on her EP might not be material for ESC, the strongest songs were already released/performed prior the eligible rules so I'm not sure what could "fit" from the EP if she'd choose something from there.

From her interview on Tuesday:

"I have no idea. Everybody's saying 3rd time lucky but nobody knows when it happens. Maybe in a 2 years or more. If there will be a good song for the contest we would probably take part. I understand this is a tough mission to represent Ukraine but any contest tests a performer for strength and makes him stronger.

In otheer words she will take part but nobody knows when and probably not with a song from the new album.

She's the soloist of the Erised band. Wondering if he invited her/them.

Re: UKRAINE 2018

Kvinta has just recommended Kazka to work on her vocals (and he's goddamn right) in his Facebook. This is her 2nd screw up on X Factor.

Kvinta deleted his Facebook post

Julia doesn't give a sheee about basic bitches  Though I'm wondering what would she said if she still was in the jury.
With such live vocals Kazka will stay a band of 1 song.

"Svyata" song is so modern and stylish that I even thought maybe somebody else composed it for them? In fact, many Western song rejections could sound great in ukrainian language.

Disagree. I Love You (aka Osen) has a beautiful melody that's very instant. I hear what you're saying about it being an "average ballad" in that it's pretty conventional. But I can never resist a good, powerful, heartbreak ballad. Plus, like I said, the melody is catchy and instant. Alas she couldn't deliver at the NF, so maybe she wouldn't have at ESC either. But it's one of those songs that, if done right, can do very well at ESC.

I actually do like the new album. Unfortunatelly for her though, every single track on it is a filler track. I don't see any potential hit singles, nor anything that would do better at ESC than I Love You would've done.

I've been really disappointed (as has mostly everyone, it seems) with Kazka's live performances on the XFactor. I don't know if it's lack of experience, bad song selection, or simply not-good-enough vocals, but she's struggled with every performance, if I recall correctly.

Beautiful song. Does this mean The Erised is no more?

And second, I wish she'd recorded it in Ukrainian instead. I might be way off on this, but it seems to me there's been a serious shift in recording in Ukrainian among the Ukrainian artists. Not only have some of the established acts that used to recod mostly in Russian started to release songs in Ukrainian, but the new and up-and-coming ones are putting out music in Ukrainian too. Looking at the FDR charts, songs in Russian used to dominate, now they make a very small minority.

I don't like this song much but this is not horrible either. Just am not fan of such downtempo things usually.
