Re: UKRAINE 2018

Let's hope next vidbir will not be as dissappointing as 2017 one. Even if they need to cut number of participants and semifinals.

Re: UKRAINE 2018

Yuliya Sanina said that the Hardkiss won't take part in the ESC. "We don't plan to participate in the near future. We are already past that stage". She's not happy with all the shit laid at our previous representatives (ironically certain Hardkiss fans used to lay crap at Jamala back then) before and after ESC. She also said "there's a political moment anyway" & that Ukraine will not win in the near future. Basically she said she's afraid to lose because it would hurt their popularity as a consequence.

Many people feel bad that Hardkiss didn't win NF in 2016. And I'm among them too. But fortunately Jamala won ESC and it could happen so that Hardkiss ended up worse than expected. Remember Jamala with her "Smile" that only placed 3rd in that hillarious 2011 NF? She returned in 5 years much stronger, now we must wait for The Hardkiss. Same story with Zlata, Mariya Yaremchuk and Ani Lorak. Let's be patient and prepare during future years for new Ukrainian Queen.

Re: UKRAINE 2018

last part of my wishlist:

27) Без Обмежень - ukrainian-language rock band that was in the top 12 of X Factor 7. Probably wouldn't be successful for esc but would love to see them in vidbir.

28) CEPASA - ukrainian experimental dance music.

29) Бамбинтон - some fast food music on this list yay. They recently started releasing content and even wrote some songs in Tina Karol's new album. Would be cool for them to try vidbir.

30) Constantine - Holos 6 singer and now on Ivan Dorn's label. This is one of my favorite songs from him.

31) Kira Mazur - ethno singer with some interesting videos and presentation.

32) PRUDIUS - I think she wants revenge after being robbed last year. She deserved better (and maybe a better team for staging).

The deadline - January 15
Semi 1 - February 10
Semi 2 - February 17
The final - February 24

Ruslan Kvinta is the new music producer of the NF.

He will also produce the Voice. He will not be in the jury but he's gonna select participants of the semis.
The new jury is waiting for us as well. There will be no online casting (hallelujah!).

Imho we will see a few people from the previous Voice seasons. Praying for Katya Chilly xbow

I remember Jamala used to be very critical about ESC but she changed her mind after a few years, maybe the same will happen to the Hardkiss ;)

Re: UKRAINE 2018

Would it be delusional if i say i want to see Onuka in the nf? That interval act was everything and more, and after last year i'm so excited for Ukrainian NFs because the music scene seems so vibrant and various, and we see so many sides of it in the nf, which is sadly unusual.

ONUKA is most likely not going to do vidbir/eurovision because she doesn't want to do esc due to the pressure and regulations on songs. but she might work on some songs with her husband The Maneken to submit with other artists.

Re: UKRAINE 2018

Mountain Breeze weren't selected to the NF '17 semis and most def they will try to succeed with this song next year:

Hmmmm. Even if they get selected to the semis not sure if they can qualify to the final.

More rumoured names: Olya Polyakova, Tayanna, Melovin.

My guess is that INAIA will take part with this song in English:
https://soundcloud.com/inaiaofficial/12-inaia
or with the new song. I like the whole album: https://soundcloud.com/inaiaofficial/sets/likedislike

However the upcoming Tayanna's album (fully in Ukrainian) can become my fave album of the year.

Basing on rumoured names 1944's sound producer can take part with (at least) 2 songs.

- Mountain Breeze is pretty basic, especially with Swedish songs haha
- Polyakova would give us such a show haha
- YES to Tayanna and no to Melovin for me personally
- INAIA, Jerry Heil, The Elephants from the Maneken (if not other acts also)
- I can see some of the more established and formed acts from X Factor making it into Vidbir (Anna Korsun (Maruv) , Patsyki z Franeka , INAIA , KAZKA , KRUT , LUKA)
- Also lets wait and see which Holos acts go for it this year:)

Re: UKRAINE 2018

They confirmed they're applying with that song. I doubt that Kvinta is interested in such boy bands.

Re: UKRAINE 2018

• Mountain Breeze sounds fine, but this song is nothing new. Most definitely non-qualification on ESC.

• I'm hyped for INAIA, her songs are quite interesting and she needs more recognition as singer. Not sure that with this song success is guaranteed though. It's a bit non-mainstream.

• Olya Polyakova is always welcome, even if she will just be present on scene doing nothing.

• Tayanna should try again definitely. As for Melovin, I'm ok with him but his fangirls will ruin NF results.

I remember when Olya Polyakova actually tried entering ESC, she was in the 2012 NF with "Lepestok". Does anyone else remember that one?

Re: UKRAINE 2018

AlekS, did Mountain Breeze try with Running Low last year? It's too bad Meladze didn't pick them - especially with all the crap he did pick. I actually like that song. Their new song is weak though.

Discovered this song the other day by someone named Sasha Karyagina. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5r-0dvXElA
It's exactly 3 minutes long. Then I see she's apparantely taking part in this year's X-Factor? Wonder if she's planning on applying for the NF. Hope she does. It's a lovely song. Reminds me of Vivienne Mort's music.

I agree with you about Taynna. Can't wait for her album, and wouldn't be surprised to see her competing again. She perfomred at Kvinta's concert this summer, so I can't imagine he wouldn't select her if she applied.

Another act I'm wondering about is KADNAY. Their new Ukrainian-langauge song is really good. And they too have a Ukrainian-language album coming out next month.

Mountain Breeze did submit that one last year.

I also just discovered that song! Produced by the new record studio made by Anna Korsun / Maruv who is also in X Factor and did Vidbir as Pringlez in 2016. I think her new studio will try to submit a song or two for Vidbir.

TAYANNA video clip for "shkoda" will come out soon as well :)

KADNAY seem to be big esc fans as they like many posts about eurovision online. I think they want to try again at some point.
