Oh jeez, the cute guy with a violin was obviously a bonus. It was the memorable, simple and catchy song that did it. Rändajad is not a simple song, nor is it catchy. It's haunting, mystical and beautiful and a lot of people obviously didn't get it. But we do here.

There are lots of mainstream songs in 2011 that didn't win. The song that did win was also very mainstream.

Yeah so why did the the mainstream song from Azerbaijan won ahead of the other mainstream songs?

Or you mean fairytale was catchy and nice song but Estonia was a crappy, boring and forgetable song? that's the truth.

Running Scared didn't win because it received all those high points from everyone like Fairytale or Euphoria did. It won because it received middle ground points from almost everyone. Didn't you watch the contest last year?

And seriously how old are you?

I know what superior is.... If Estonia 2009 is that superior because it's excellence and bla bla, why didn't it won the jury vote then? You still haven't said WHY you think it's superior. You and Matt are probably very alone aboy it. Most of Europe think Euphoria, Fairytale are superior crappy Estonia..
why r u concetrated on estonia?
what about the winner, uk 97 and italy 90?
u can't compare their popularity to euphoria's, cause, back in those days, a song could go only on radio or tv. no internet, no smartphones...
just to remind that my favorite here was "volare", a song that u can still hear on radio, 54 years later, and a LOT of ppl (not esc fans) know the melody (btw, that wasn't a winner of that year)
uk 97 and italy 90 are, imo, one of those high-quality winners, one of the best ones in esc history.
u should be thrilled euphoria found a place there, cause it has a long way ahead, to confirm it's quality ;)

Because it was a common denominator. A song that most people liked. Neither loved nor hated. And almost everyone gave it some kind of points. And how the should I know why people didn't vote for Hungary that much? Or why Sweden came third? What on earth does that have to do with the discussion about Rändajad vs Euphoria?

And seriously, how old are you?

UK 1997 and Italy 1990 at least won ESC even if I hate them. I rank both Fairytale and Euphoria much higher. Why? Yes because they got support from both televoters and juries. Italy and UK won with only juries.. I would be thrilled if Euporia found a place there? Hmmm? Waterloo was voted as the best esc song ever but isn't even in the final. Whay do this tell you?

So you do base your taste on how well a song does in Eurovision? This contest is not about ranking songs based on how well they did. It's about voting for the songs you love the most, regardless of how well or poorly they did. But you're still having trouble understanding that.
