A friend of mine - writer for a huge newspaper here in France and he covers Eurovsion every year, was asked to answer some questions for a media in Sweden (Don't know which one) to give his opinion about the poor result in the televote. He told me that was a national drama in Sweden (I doubt so but I'm asking anyway : ) What people/media are saying about it so far ?

Some people from Swedish press even blame his reaction video, because he received none of the points from those countries he apparently "insulted". I read that, but Swedes from this forum could explain to you situation better. And they think Europe hates them because of constant and huge success in previous years, and got tired of them, mostly because of the cheering reaction from the press during televoting...I have read all these informations from Swedish web news. To be honest, whole Europe was cheering, even my friends who watched it, people on Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, all other social media, so it is understandable why Swedes think like that...It is sad to see people react so awfully to someone's failure, no matter of country's name.

Totally agree with you. Quite a lot of the journalists in the pressroom also cheered when Austria got low points in the televote... :(

Yes, and in my opinion, reaction from press is quite disrespectful towards both of countries and their artists. :( Honestly, I prefer both Austria and Sweden, over Israel and Cyprus, so I am happy with this year's juries decision and results. :) Noone from here should kill me, this is just my opinion, those two songs are modern and well produced, and juries often go exactly for quality of production, and performance. The juries look at the musicality and production. The audience looks at the show.

Do you know the press centre was huge and divided in 3 areas? In fact a huge austrian group was around our tables and I assure you no one laughed at them there. Same for Sweden. Truth is we only laughed when Portugal jury awarded just 2 points to Spain when the Press and Arena was full of them and still strongly believed in a high result

I rewatched the jury voting, and when our jury gave him 12 points he screamed "I love Spätzle" to the camera. Now I feel even more bad knowing the really toxic comments my friends made about him when we watched the final together :-(

He's a true connoisseur after all!

I think that the #20 in the draw did not help actually! After that followed all the televoting top 3 songs and some other rock entries so Sweden's song was easy to forget!

This was exactly what I thought then! I was actually cheering for him to draw 1st half, because in the 1st half were slow songs, and all energetic songs and top favorites were in the 2nd half. I was dissapointed when he was in the 2nd half, I knew he will struggle to stand out. :(

Yes maybe in the 1st half, Benjamin could get a few more points from televoting because he would made a difference among slow songs!
Christer Björkman propably tried to help him by giving him #20 but it did not work!

Yeah, really bad Christer's decision! And Benjamin was unlucky and got 2nd half, so there were not lot of things to do. I knew Hungary, Cyprus and Israel would kill him, his song is not explosive like theirs.

they clearly thought he would be stronger than he was and gave him that spot thinking he could ride it for points like robin did last year. congratulations, christer, you played yourself.

I am not even producer, and I knew 20th position is wrong, because of reasons counted in previous posts. Robin was 24th, it is better position, after him were only strong Bulgaria, and bland France (after Benjamin were huge contenders, Israel, Cyprus, Italy) and he wasn't so good in televote either, maybe his song was bit catchier, and he wasn't annoying and cringey to public, like Benjamin is portrayed in whole Europe almost. xcry I am content with 7th place, it is well deserved, in my opinion, with combined votes. I woudn't rank him lower or higher, even though it is my favorite. :)

I must admit that I always knew he will do worse than Robin in televote, because almost noone loved this song and performance, from this forum, then few Serbian and Croatian forums (of 50 people, always only 5-10 people loved it, it is not so much), Youtube comments, but I thought he will be between 10-15th place, 23rd place I couldn't really imagine. :D It still looks unbelievable to me, from time to time.

We finally have longer first verse, it sounds better like this! :) Who loves the song, should listen to this, who doesn't love it, shouldn't make his/her day worse with this song. ;) Saturday Night Fever vibes, with a touch of modern times. xparty xyaaay

Aaah, it is insane how every second of performance is exactly the same! No difference at all. Professionalism level 10 out of 10. This alone deserved 2nd place with juries, if anything else! :D

Wow, wow, 16 million streams on Spotify! Congratulations, most streamed song of this year. And not all streams are coming from Sweden, of course! And he is in the top 10 most viewed songs on ESC youtube channel. xheya

He is sexy and he knows it! ;)

Didnt expect another Video for "Dance you off".
But yes, thank god, the Juries gave him a deserved Top10.
If such Professional Entries get punished, we will never get something like this again in the Future.

I completely agree with you, this song is the most quality produced entry of this year, and I understand why professional juries went for it. And performance is just perfection! Top 10 is more than deserved here. :) He was filming new video in April, after Amsterdam Pre-Party, I think, I knew it will come out soon, but I wonder what is that for, two music videos, I don't know why. :D

The new video is really good! Benjamin deserves all the success!!

I also like the extended version and the remixes of the song, they are all available on Spotify! :)

Hahaha, fangirl in me, checked it already as soon as it was released, in the first moment! I subscribed to his offical Youtube channel, I will continue to follow his songs in the future, for sure, I love this kind of music. :) I really wish him all the best, and great succes, but I still can't understand hate he gets, even after Eurovision. I think that noone would criticize DYO if it was song from United States, and not for Eurovision. :D Nonsense, really, haters should move on, it is not like Sweden won or something like that. It is all ok and cool now, and the song is really good! :D I only have one complaint: he should made new music video for DYO using Extended Version of it, because that version sounds more complete and beautiful. :)
