Really good rehearsal again by Benjamin, actually starting to think we can win, since the others countries haven´t impress with the staging and we don´t have a clear winner at all.

I don´t know but I´m not a fan of the stage this year and I´ve read others say the same, it lookes dated in some way and camera angels in many perfromances looks wierd, this will affect all countries ... except Sweden.

This will standout, I mean it is in a completely own leauge! This will be top 3 with juries and top 5 with televote I think, could be enough to win.

There is two things however that i´m not satisfied with:

It sounds not perfect in the second rehearsal clip, i don´t know if it is Benjamins voice that is not 100% or if it is the backsingers? It sound way to light?
In the first rehearsal it sounded much better, even better than in Mello.

The other thing is the lights thats already been mentioned here, but I´ve read that they had some problems today and they tested the lights (brightness and other effects).
I think they should make them a little more bright, but maybe not as bright as in Mello, because at some points you could not even see Benjamin and it is important especially in ESC that you conect with the viewers.

But this team is professional in every way and they will fix this small issues, I´m sure everything will look perfect on thursday! :p

I am glad that you guys are so professional, so I don't have to worry too much. But I am not sure that brightness of the lights could be fixed/increased. :) Maybe they are simply installed this way.

i actually like the new lights and choreography more. also he is suuuch an eleftheria eleftheriou with his vocals and emits so much gay vibes that the ironic love train is gaining steam for me. YOU DO YOU, BENJI.

Honestly, isn't it a bit suspicious these stories of "major problems" started to emerge as soon as Tobbe Ek landed in Lisbon? :D Speculation of sudden missing techs and light filters, new backing tracks etc. They're looking for that blending white flash and cannot quite get the effect. To me, it all seems to be Tobbe's way to stir up some fun drama to write home about. It undeniable makes it more interesting and gives an insight behind the scenes. If I should go by my own first reaction on Benjamin's act back at Melodifestivalen deltävling, the big issue was he as an artist didn't show, he didn't go through the TV screen, like he was hiding on stage among all those flashing lights. They fixed it somehow in the final with other camera angles, but it was still an issue IMO. If compared with Loreen, she had that crucial mischievious smile at the beginning of her very dark act. He will need something like that, in the beginning, saying: Here! This is me! Look at me! This I think is far more important than a missing light filter

And his dance moves were wrapped up with lights and less visible, now people think he is even more cocky and annoying. :(

Exactly!

After hating quite a lot on this at the beginning I tried to find the positive things about it after some people claimed that this would be a potential compromise winner (I don't think so at all though) - here are my thoughts:

It is well produced, as nearly all songs by :se:. It has a mass appeal to a certain point but many people also don't like that kind of music. So I can see them reaching a top 5 result again, but I can't see it winning.

My biggest problem with it is his voice. I can't stand it at all. But voice is everything to me in music. It sometimes even makes me like stuff I would never ever listen to. (but it also works the opposite way of course) At Eurovision it might not be that important but in certain cases like this one it still is a reason for me to totally dislike an entry...

I think what you are saying is that you don't like 80s-90s disco/soul music as a genre and specifically Michael Jackson as an artist. I don't imply that Benjamin in any way is comparable to Michael Jackson, but Benjamin's vocal is everything about him. So is the staging I'd say and Benjamin said it himself.

I guess many people here ( and on Youtube) haven't heard of falsetto singing, and have no clue what it is. I mean, before some people start to judge, they should at least have basical knowledge about vocal ranges and music. ;) If someone knows nothing, better someone doesn't say something at all, this way it looks ridiculous, at least from my point of view. Sorry-not sorry. ;)

Because I feel sorry that so many people are ignoramuses, please let me to teach you, to don't make fool of yourselves:

What Is Falsetto ?
When listening to a singer on the radio, do you ever wonder if the singer is a man or a woman? What you were hearing was probably a man singing in falsetto.

Falsetto in Italian means 'a little false.' It is produced with only the edges of the vocal cords that are stretched open rather than using the full cords and is pitched much higher than the normal range for a male singer. It also has a hooty or breathy quality rather than a full resonant one and involves an abrupt change in register. For these reasons, many voice teachers consider this type of singing to be fake or even unhealthy because it can lead to vocal fatigue and take away from the smooth, flowing musical phrase desirable in many kinds of music.

Examples:Michael Jackson, Bee Gees, and many, many more

Don't get me wrong, I didn't mean that his vocals are bad. I just don't like his (singing) voice or lets say the way he is singing.

And yes, you're absolutely right with Michael Jackson. I don't like his music at all, it's pure horror for me listening to his songs! (But I get why so many people love it and I respect his work)

I think Benjamin's vocal is a bit weak if anything, but the good part is he knows it and adapts, which actually makes him a greater artist in my opinion.

I like the way his voice changes through whole song-from full voice in the verses to falsetto in the chorus. It makes him great performer and artist, even if his vocal isn't flawless, but not everyone could be Elina Nechayeva, that is very rare thing. :)

Falsetto has nothing with vocal range to do. It's about vocal register.

I know, I have music knowledge. Point stays the same, I was just typing too quickly. People don't have knowledge about vocal registers and they call it:"He sounds like a girl." And everyone using falsetto sounds too high-pitched, but that is the exact point of using it. People seems don't get it or don't know what it is, and it is true that many people who are not into music don't know what falsetto is, but at least, before someone start to judge they should at least get informed better.

I see your point, but on the other hand: Falsetto or not, if one simply doesn't like high male voices, then I think you can state your opinion without having that knowledge. It's just like: don't state your opinion on Elina because you have no opera knowledge. That's stupid. You can voice your opinion without knowing theoretical music background on certain genres.

That is true, but some people lose the point stating it, by becoming so rude, offensive and mean towards artists who work hard, you know...

I think what lolita means is the there's a difference between not to appreciate a voice and dislike it due to thinking it's weird or other reasons better not be mentioned. To state it's a perfectly "legit" and "officially OK" established way to sing, if you understand what aI'm getting at.
