That's the difference here - overconfident or cocky people are a complete turn-off for me and I will immediately shut-off to whatever they are doing to block them out. Maybe that's part of my major issue with this ;)

I have to agree with you in that aspect. I mean I like confident people, but not cocky ones and Benjamin gives me that arrogant impression. Others may have another Impression, but that's how I feel. I rather like someone who is congenial and likable.

Well, as a song, I think this is very likely the weakest :se: entry ever since The Ark. But, visually, it definitely looks great. If he succeds in transmitting the same type of energy on the stage this week, it will very likely be another top 10 result.

The song isn't my cup of tea but the right show could cover that.

4 points.

According to the (actually excellent) pre-ESC show Studio Eurovision
https://www.svtplay.se/video/17754039/studio-eurovision/studio-eurovision-8-maj-20-00

was Benjamin's light ramp rebuilt from scratch in Lisbon. Which makes sense if you think about it. If I understand Aftonbladet right, the ramp suddenly didn't work at all during the dress rehearsal, but eventually it worked right after when it was finished, right? Scary stuff.

BTW strange SVT will not continue Studio Eurovision tomorrow and Saturday. I thought it was great and Malin is such a sweetheart.

I am afraid about lights tonight, but I am paranoid now, since my favorite Greece floped from 1st semi. :) I hope it won't be San Marino or Georgia instead of Sweden tomorrow. Ireland and Albania were shocking qualifers. :D I've never been shocked like yesterday.

Yes, I'm sorry about that too, but there was something terribly wrong with her sound I think. Too much echo perhaps? It developed into a wall of sound where you couldn't recognise the beatiful melody or hear her vocals.

It is usual problem with actually lot of songs at ESC, the most of voices aren't powerful live like in studio version, and then they just fail to transmit the emotion of the song to general public. It is sad, but it really wasn't good, altough song is very beautiful and strong, better than some songs that qualified, but it is what it is now. Benji, don't fail me now! :)

Yeah, he is great, people can love this song or hate it, but noone should deny originality of staging. This will stand out, yaaaas! :) xcheer I am glad that you are still in #teamBenjamin with me, I feel like I am alone here supporting him. xrose

I was actually hoping that Malin would be our commentator for Eurovision this year, considering that her mother is Portuguese. Then I saw her on Go' Kväll and heard that she would do Studio Eurovision. I thought it would be a start up of Inför Eurovision. And then it turned out that it's just a program of her talking about it. :(

This afternoon when I was waiting for the bus home from work I saw a car drive by with the license plate "ESC XXX" (xxx = can't remember the numbers).
This just HAS to be a SIGN that Benjamin will do very well tomorrow. xup :D

I missed the first episode but saw it later on SVTplay. I think both episodes were great. A kind of combination of the programs Gina did and a regular Inför. I checked and there will be no pre-ESC show tomorrow or on Saturday. Pity. I can't understand why they are so restrictive when the interest is so high.

Very impressive staging, and a really good song. When you compare a live performance like that to Netta's live performance... They're worlds apart. I will be shocked if Sweden doesn't place higher than Israel.
