I'm sure that Top 10 is sure for Sweden!
Depends on how he will convey his performance live. A song can be good and can still be destroyed by the staging. A good example is Belarus. Good song, but live? His singing was creepy. :?

Many people think that because they don't like a song it will not do well! But that's wrong!
For example i hate Rybak and Norway's entry this year but i know he will rech top 5 easily!

I highly doubt Rybak will reach top. 5, yes it'll probably do better than it deserves, but unlike "Fairytales" his new entry is completely bland and boring. I do agree that people should differ between their own taste and what actually will work in ESC, but in the end of the day we should stay true to our taste. I'd rather support an entry with no chance of winning if I like it than an entry I don't like with all the chances to win.
I think it's really good, people just have sweden fatigue because they dominated eurovision so strongly recently.
I agree completely, the beat is fire, music is modern and rhytm is catchy. Otherwise, there couldn't be another reason why Czech Republic, Finland, Poland, Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Israel are better, that is nonsense. I understand that all people have different taste in music, but it is unrealistic to say that this song is worst this year, people are really overreacting when it comes to Sweden. This year's entry is at least decent and ok, if not more.
Beatiful words. I think the only issue with Dance you off is that it's not immidiate and instant. The song kind of sneak its way in. The casual voter in the final may not have enough time to recognise it.
Thanks! Through my point of view, I've started to like the song instantly, since I saw it in the final of Melodifestivalen. I hope there will be more people like me in May. But this is the kind of music I like and listen every day, i like modern American music, but also their music of 80's (this song is inspired by 80's), then I understand I like it so much. As for the others, I have feeling that they expect Eurovision to be contest of smart songs, ballads, classical music, etc. For me, it has to be fun, it is TV show, so I am ok, with upbeat, catchy songs, and beautiful staging. And this is the only song I am sure I would listen after Eurovision, because it is radio-friendly. Other songs are dated and boring, for my taste, I barely could make top 10 list, even though I know that people are saying this year is strong. There also many fans that think this song is grower, at first they hated it, but after 10th listening, they put it in top 10. Based of its polarization, I really can't predict how well or bad it will do in May.
I agree!
I'm in it mostly for Melodifestivalen and for catchy POP. And the show of course. If it isn't fun I can just barely stand it. Usually my taste is very different and varies a lot. I have "periods". It can be everything from Johann Sebastian, trance, Jazz Fusion, soul, different kinds of metal, folk & world music, rap osv osv to a deep dive in a special artist. Lately it has been Soen, don't know why really.
Thanks for roses! -O- Same here, besides pop and catchy, I am into jazz, it is one of my favorite genres, and I like rock very much! If I want to pretend smart, like lot of people here I would actually go to theatre and watch ballet or opera, I wouldn't watch Eurovision, so show IS important, and staging, besides song.
I think I sincerely want Melodifestivalen and in extension, Eurovision to be about mainstream popular music, something that almost everyone can relate to. I think that is the true niche for Eurovision. My own personal taste isn't really important in this respect. A good contribution should be perceived as directed to all, not just to a particular group, and should also be perceived as fresh and current. I think Benjamin has precisely such a song. Mocking joke entries which some people love or pretentious "quality" entries doesn't go down well with me. Naturally upbeat POP with a catchy chorus is most likely to succeed. Melodifestivalen also has an unwritten rule of sorts to support happy upbeat music. So even if I support these type of songs in Eurovision with all my heart, it doesn't mean I listen to them outside of the esc bubble. I think this is very common, especially among Swedes.
Regarding the fan forums, I somehow have this feeling of being a tourist, pretty ridiculous but - since I'm not gay and not female. Kind of awkward and not really here by full right. Hard to explain, but true. Very obvious when it comes to the issue of pretty boys - a subject that annoys the hell out of me. Perhaps explains my initial reluctance to Benjamin and for example Oscar Zia, both who have proved to be great personalities. Still can't stand Eric Saade though. Anyway this was maybe telling way too much.
