I would absolutely like to go back five days in the past and kick myself, I'm sitting here rewatching the live performance again and again and again this song is so SWEET!!!!! I know it's sappy and cheesy but I just want a Spanish bf and to have deep feelings for him and to hold him and sing him this when I hear it

I've read many comments against Lo malo because it is reggaeton, and they reject it only for that. And yes, many people listen to this kind of music and it's always in the Spanish Youtube trends, but the mainstream Spanish eurofan loves divas and despise reggaeton, it's a fact.

I love dancing reggaeton in parties and I don't feel guilty or suburbial for it. I'm proud and I have nothing to be ashamed. But it's true that the messages in the reggaeton songs are usually so creepy and sexist to say the least.
I wouldn't mind to send a reggaeton song once, but a good one, and I think "Lo malo", despite the feminist message, wasn't the case.

The only magical thing I saw was the piano. It kept playing the whole time even when Alfred stood up and left it alone to start overacting his love for Amaia as if it were a Mexican soap opera... only tears and a illegitime child were missing.

Why overacting? That's:

1- The natural way to be when you are young and start a relationship.
2- That's how they've been to each other for the last months, as we've seen 24 hours. It's not that they are doing this just for the performance.
3. Let them live their relationship as they want!

Well it just doesn't look real, for those who don't watch this telenovela OT and have no idea about their love story, it just looked forced and scripted. I didn't even know they were a tv couple (characters IMO). Even if they are a real life couple, the whole staging didn't come across natural. In any case, the staging is the least important issue as it can be changed or improved.
The main issue with the Spanish entry is nor the staging either the fans, not the haters or Spain as a country...it is the song itself.

I personally don't go for predictions, I avoid to say how it will do just because it doesn't do anything to me ... that would be very pretencious, my criticism is based in the song and the poor quality of the singers, to me they are just a product overhyped by the Spanish media, they are trendy, they are in, popular in social media perhaps, but that doesn't help when the song is performed.

You can't expect this thread to be a bubble for fanwank, and everybody to be focused on the songs we like only... those who don't like it have the same right to participate than those who support and like it, that's the idea of the forum.

OT finale update: Amaia made the top 3 with Aitana and Miriam, Alfred finished 4th and Ana Guerra 5th

UPDATE (01:46 CET): It was a close fight between the top 2, but Amaia won the series. Aitana was 2nd (just 4% behind Amaia) with Miriam in third

Aitana screwed over again by Alfred being eliminated right before the superfinal (Amaia must have really benefitted from this scenario).
It would have been more just if Alfred, Amaia and Aitana were the final 3 given what happened last week.

That’s not true. OT was reactivated because of the popularity of the talent show in the past. It was decided that it would be the platform to choose the ESC act in the middle of the season, but it wasn’t sure in the beginning, so it makes sense it’s been done this way (the same happened back in 2002, 2003 and 2004).

Well I perceived it differently, but obviously you have to more direct, thus probably more accurate view. But honestly - I already found it strange in 2002, 2003 and 2004... It kind of turned down the later winner of OT because the public interest was more on the ESC candidate. At least from the outer perspective.

More people watched the final of OT yesterday than Eurovision last year. It’s been a phenomenon. When I was watching the final yesterday I didn’t even remember Amaia and Alfred are going to ESC this year haha

If I remember correctly, in those years (2002, 2003 and 2004) the Eurovision selection was held when OT already had a winner, meant after the Grand Final. Those were special editions just to pick the ESC entry between the final top 3 of the Grand Final.

Poor quality? Most of the Spanish singers and most of the ESC ones would need to live at least twice to have Amaia's or Alfred's qualities (and I'm not a special fan of Alfred myself). They are not just singers. They are complete musicians, they play several instruments, they compose, they have a music background and culture well above average.... And that's what gives them a special sensitivity when they sing that makes everything they do beautiful, especially for Amaia.
And product overhyped by the media???? They are getting #01 on iTunes every week, people are BUYING their music every week, people are even buying the original songs which were unknown of forgotten. You need much more than an overhyping to get this
