Yes, it's by far the worst song. It's the most horrible thing I've heard in a looong while :?

Re: SPAIN 2018

He even tries to kill it for me by comparing it to one of my all time most hated Eurovision entries. I could sue.

Is this the part where I anger you both by saying that it reminds me of Spain 2010, but that that's a good thing because Spain 2010 is a hot hit? xheat

‘Al cantar’ is the best option, followed by arde. The duo is ok but I think the other two would do better. Can’t wait to hear the final versions. At least it’s a huge improvement from Do it for your lover

The beauty of hitting rock bottom last year is that virtually whatever you choose here will be an improvement.

Yes, I now have to reevaluate our friendship i'm afraid............

I get the comparison though a bit, as they both have a sort of... circus kind of vibe? One has a highly irritating melody and performance though, and the other hasn't. "Al cantar" feels very sincere. Spain 2010 a hot hit!? I almost died when I had to watch it a second time. Curse that stage invader.

We all know what should have been Spain's Eurovision entry back in 2010. One of the greatest robberies of all time...

Re: SPAIN 2018

While id be ok with Amaia and Alfred the only choice for me is Amaia alone with "Al cantar".Iv watched this all season and while enjoying all the young artists iv been really watching Amaia.I see massive potential in her and a rare talent.I spent a lot of time thinking about what sort of song she would get.Making scenarios of Spanish pop, contemporary pop, ballads, you name it.Trying to form an idea of a song that would do well at ESC.Al cantar caught me out if im honest.I thought they had wasted a chance. That it was wrong for her.A little deflated.I was wrong to think that.Very wrong and i should know better.

Watching Amaia start to feel the song, grow into it,expand it she floors me once again. The melancholy of the opening piano brings the vision of a slow waltz. Her haunting opening line, "a chill from head to toe,me,more me than ever" is exquisite. She pulls a deep pain straight from the melody and makes it so absolutely personal."the most bitter crying".Yet then the song is her escape from such things,"the open soul, freedom" when she sings when she Al cantar larai lara. She imagines its how a bird feels when flying, escaping. The more the blows to her heart the more her wings grow,"crecen enormes alas".The narrative turns to hope "no existe el miedo, ya no hay dolor" no fear,no pain, but she leads the melody,it doesnt lead her,she takes charge and then the waltz turns and spins again as Amaia gives us an incredible refrain,"thats what i feel when singing" and takes us with her to the sunlit uplands.
This will be my favourite song of the season i expect even if it isnt selected.Thankyou Amaia.Pure quality.

I don't understand why the Spanish fans are gushing so much over the Amaia/Alfred duet. They don't sound good together at all.

Amaia and Aitana's solo songs would probably be in my top 5 this year. I love both of them so much. Please, Spain, don't screw this up!

Aitana and Ana saying they want to change the words and style of their song and getting into trouble from the coaches who say that they arent showing the composers respect.Poor Aitana in tears .She only said she would never sing in that style and if it was to go to ESC she would want to have her own style on it.The artists have every right to ask for changes, after all its them who are up in front of the world.

This is exactly why this format of a national selection is just plain wrong. At least when Germany did something similar when Lena won they allowed the finalists to change the songs somewhat to fit their style more. In here they literally gave them the songs and forced the contestants to use them wether they like them or not.

Yes it was quite disturbing watching them turn on her like that. She has every right to question things.I know they sign up for it at the start, but young artists havent much choice if they want a chance of a career. The producers should thank their stars they have such a great bunch of young artists. Its the composers who should show more respect.

As Aitana and Ana don't have freedom of speech, I say it on their behalf: OT, you've given them the wrong song, so at least let them do the changes they want to feel at ease with it!

I really like this one, I mean I think? I'll wait for the studio version but it feels fresh, dancy and Spanish. The singer is also giving a lot of personnality to that song.

Not feeling any of the duets to be honest.

Maybe it’s the catchiest, but I think the duo Alfred-Amaia or Aitana as a solist can make Europe feel much more than Ana Guerra. I think it’s a cheap dance song and Ana has never been among the big favourites during the show, neither will be in the Eurovision gala. Unfortunately all the studio versions will be released after the show, so Spain will have to vote based on the live performances on Monday.
However, I am seeing lots of international Eurofans loving this one, not Spanish though...
