Well, your comment actually highlights my case. She is not singing about herself, I repeat, her message is gender neutral in that she suggests that EVERYONE should say NO THANKS. As a result, OBRIGADO NAO is the correct translation in this case. You see, tuorem, people don't get it.

This reply is intended also for Alaska49 and tuorem.

THANK YOUUUUU

I've been doing some rankings (since I'm a member of a different website but love this forum) and Lea is easily in my top 5-6 overall.
Love her

At this point, as there wasn't any information about a potential partial language change, I guess it is more likely Lea will keep "Hvala, Ne!" as is. And RTVSLO wouldn't have forced Slovenian acts to sing in their own language to end up going for a post-victory addition of English lines. As Lea hinted in her interview, acts were free to change language before the EMA final and the version that would win it had to be kept as is. Besides, when Lea talked about her wish to change some of lyrics, it was to add a few words in Portuguese, not in English. So who knows what will come out of that? xthink

I know how you feel about this particular case. Personally, the way I see it (sorry for repeating myself) is that people who won't like the song won't vote for it even if they're aware that the message is more commendable than it looks, whereas people who groove to it will vote for it regardless of the lyrical content, so in the end I don't think English would significantly help Lea receive more votes. That's what it is with divisive songs. If commentators do their job, it'll be enough for people to get the bigger picture imo.

I know you understand me, but I am still frustrated. I don't want people only to grove, I want them to say "Yeah, gurl, you are right"! SOOC

Honestly, I do not understand what went wrong last year, as Jana was cool and good on stage. Oh, and one more thing. Damn are Macedonian women pretty/beautiful  Though I am gay, I'd marry one

Today I noticed for the first time that one of the dancers falls during the performance  Around the 2:20 mark on the video in the official Eurovision channel.
I'm having a strange relationship with this song. When it comes up I'm like "ugh, not this song, the beat is getting annoying", but when I actually listen to it I like it

I like it, it's currently in my Top 10. It's fun, the choreography and the camera work is nice, and the beat reminds me of K-Pop, which I rather enjoy. Hope it qualifies for the final.

I honestly love this entry because it's so fun, and Lea performs the hell out of this song.

However, from a technical standpoint, it's really lacking. the backing track sounds like a mishmash of sound effects that doesn't really go well with the notes of the vocals.

Nah, too much for our Slovenians :) In any case, she already tried to go to ESC for Slovenia as the lead vocalist of the group The Muff (Let me be (myself)). I loved that song, but Tinkara was also okey for me in 2014.

Anyways, news for you. Yesterday I wrote a message to Lea Sirk on Facebook. Guess what? She replied  I was shocked, I really did not expect. She was super nice, but also very short. She published a post the other day saying that she was super-tired the last couple of weeks because of the whole media-attention she is getting as the EMA winner. After a short crisis, she says she has now regenerated and she is back in the game, preparing and getting ready for her big moment in Lisbon.

In any case, go, gurl. I am getting more and more convinced that she could really get to the finals. I know that some people doubt it, but I have that weird feeling that everything is possible :)

Why too much? What is too much? Nth is too much! :)

Is she Slovenian? Her name (nick) sounds Muslim to me..

And the language is strange, it's not in Slovenian, nor in proper Serbian/Bosnian.. :?

Yes, she is a Slovenian, but of Bosnian descent (name tells everything, Senida is surely not a Slovenian name, but Bosnian Muslim name for women).

As for her language, well, my educated guess is that maybe she sings in a local/Slovenian variety of "Serbo-Croatian". I know this sounds funny at first, but if you as a native speaker of Serbian cannot define her variety of "Serbo-Croatian", I guess it is possible that a "new" variety of Serbo-Croatian has come into being among the second/third generation speakers of Serbo-Croatian dialects in Slovenia. You know, speakers from various parts of ex-Yugoslavia moved to Ljubljana and other Slovenian towns, so it is possible that the kids from different families hang out together, and in these mixed closed groups, they've started to pick up a bit from this dialect, a bit from dialect, and another bit from some third dialect. The end-result is that perhaps the second/third generation of native speakers of different Serbo-Croatian dialects are now speaking here some sort of a "mixed" dialect. This would be/is my best explanation why you cannot pinpoint her "dialect". I will ask my friend who studies Serbo-Croatian and is also born in Slovenia if he knows anything about this. And btw, that is actually very interesting :) Can you imagine? Perhaps now we have also a "Slovenian dialect" of Serbo-Croatian

Does someone know if Lea will take part in any pre-Eurovision event? As we had Naber everywhere last year, I'm just asking. :)
