Re: SLOVENIA 2013

I hope for Maja Keuc again but now with fast song.

I'm pretty sure that it's not going to happen.

Maja was accepted to music academy in Rotterdam (Netherlands), so she probably won't have time for Eurovision. At least not in 2013. :p

Re: SLOVENIA 2013

The truth is, right now Slovenia doesn't really have many charismatic artists at its disposal. So we gotta at least find a really catchy tune.
What about Manouche?

I kind of agree with the first part of your comment. We have many singers with great voices, but a big percentage of those singers lacks charisma. I don't think that this problem appears only in Slovenia though, I think that it appears in almost every country.

And about Manouche - they're not my cup of tea, so I personally wouldn't select them for Eurovision. The only song I kind of like is "Kje si lubi?", which is very catchy indeed.

I don't think that they'll participate on EMA (if we'll have it), because they don't seem like a type of band that would like to go to Eurovision. I might be wrong though. :D

Sad news for Reggie: Klemen Slakonja left RTVSLO. He signed a contract with a TV station "TV3 Medias", where he'll work as a host of a new show called "Zadetek v petek".

I doubt that we will see him as a host of EMA or as a spokeperson again. At least not for a while. :(

Peter Poles moved from RTVSLO to POP TV - our most-watched commercial channel. He was a host of Slovenia's Got Talent (2010, 2011) and later X factor (2012).

Oh, I didn't mention it on the forum yet, but there are rumours that Slovenia's participation is uncertain. I really, realy doubt it though - I'm actually 99% sure that we'll participate in Malmö. Especially now, after the election of the new head of RTV's entertainment programming - Petar Radovič. He was the head of our delegation for a few years now and I'm sure he'll do everything to secure Slovenia's participation on Eurovision. :)

Still the best spokesperson you ever had though ;)

Oh... that's a new one, didn't see that coming.

However, I think you'll be staying. Rumors like that are always around.

I'm sure that we'll stay too! :D

Well, in other countries - yes, but in Slovenia they're pretty rare, I must say.

Re: SLOVENIA 2013

Katarina Mala expressed her wish to represent Slovenia on Eurovision. Here's what she said in some interview, which was posted on RTVSLO website:

Provokativni pop. Odpet z angleščino, ko sploh ne veš, kaj je bilo to. Bil je fantastičen. Tu sama vidim

Translation:

Are you tempted to represent Slovenia on Eurovision?
Yes, definitely. I'm sure that we can produce a winning song - a winning song in terms of something special, something extra. I'm aware of things that work in Slovenia, but have no effect or whatsoever on Eurovision. It's easy to notice that from our previous results, because it's pretty visible what works and what doesn't. We will never get a good placing with some Oberkrainer music (like Narodnozabavni rock). We can gain success with ballads, but only when they're really excellent. What's missing is something that happened to Lena in 2010 - funky / wicked pop. Provocative pop. It was sung in English, but you had no idea what hit you. It was fantastic. I really noticed it.

You can also check "Kavbojke" and "Bombon".

Her previous songs didn't really 100% convince me, but I actually believe that she CAN produce a very good song. Hm ..., might be cool to see her in EMA (if we'll have it), but I wouldn't internally choose her.

I still think Manca Spik should get a try, I think she was robbed twice in a row in EMA (in favor of cr*p/joke entries):

A few months ago, I was almost certain that she'll participate on EMA 2013 (if we would have one), but now I'm not that sure anymore. She just released her first album "Iz prve roke", which includes her biggest hits, a few covers and 4 or 5 new songs. These new songs are in totally different style than most of her previous songs, but I really like it. Here's the first single:

My favourite song of the album is "Iz prve roke" though (click). Oh, and some special trivia about this album: One of the back-up singers was Nina Pušlar - one of the most popular :sl: singers and Manca's good friend!

Although I really, really love the new songs, I do not think that they would be noticed on Eurovision or that they would gain success. Well, I'm pretty sure that if she participates on ema / is internally selected, she will enter something more effective, something that convinces you on the first listening. :)

More rumblings from the sunny side of the Alps, although it's from Oikotimes so I wouldn't take it too seriously.

After the announcement of Portugal, Poland and Slovakia they are withdrawing from Eurovision Song Contest 2013 the rumors about another country started risen up. Yes, we can confirm it’s Slovenia. Based on exclusive and secure information RTVSLO will soon announce it’s decision. The same information told oikotimes.com the country is closer to withdraw than participate.

Re: SLOVENIA 2013

Slovenia should send Trash Candy or Natalija Verboten with a song such as "Zapoj Slovenija" :D I love Slovenia in ESC, one of the most underrated countries though :( Loved almost every entry except Sestre and those folks in 2010.

Re: SLOVENIA 2013

I can't say that I'm not worried, because I really am, but I'm still comforting myself with a fact that Eurovision (and EMA) are one of the most watched programmes on RTVSLO (sometimes even THE most).

That's why I can't believe that we'll withdraw. It would just be stupid! I admit, Eurovision is usually mentioned with a hint of negativity and people usually don't admit that they even watched it, but the ratings speak for themselves! They're just great - much, much better than ratings from many countries that will keep participating.

Well in Portugal,
eurovision was also polular.
Last year that Portugal was not in Final,
the rating of the Final was 38,5 %.
