Re: SLOVENIA 2013

I wouldn't mind to see In&Out in eurovision!

We could get a lot of votes from horny teenage girls

Does Eurovision need more of them? xrofl3

Re: SLOVENIA 2013

Siddharta :D

That would be awesome! They are my favourite :sl: band ever.

They probably won't enter EMA, but I think that the chances are slightly bigger than in the past. Their new stuff isn't nearly as good as their old stuff, so they're kind of loosing the popularity.

I think that they could do wonders on ESC with a good song in English OR Slovene. I probably prefer English in this case, but I would be OK with Slovene as well.

My favourite song: Siddharta - Napoj (Potion)

Something like this would probably do well on ESC. The stage performance would probably be awesome as well!

They have many excellent ballads as well, but I'd rather see something uptempo from them.

Siddharta - Male roke (Small hands)

They sound quite interesting, church-rock... could be good with the right type of song :)

(I just hope if they'd ever go to ESC, that they won't change their style and send some bland pop-rock instead like those Belarussian entries (sorry Belarus)..)

Seems to me that the record company of Siddharta messed up big time. Most tunes are not playable on Spotify, only a few are. :( If they are blocked they should not show up at all.

Seems to work fine here...

Just listened to a couple of tracks so far... I like what I hear.. it's very Italo-rock mixed with Baroque rock-pop (there are some Gregorian/Christian sounds hidden in there aswell). Sounds promising, they could be a good choice IF they stay true to their own sound (including the language) and doesn't come up with a silly ESC compromise (sort of like Can Bomoro did).

OK, interesting. I was trying their newest album VI and Saga and there were nothing (no sound) except Noraterra. Spotify was trying hard to find the tunes, but behaved strange. When I try right now (22:00), the tunes are there! :?

Hey, why so angry? xslap

Please, read all the comments next time. Few comments later A-lister wrote a much better classification.

I don't classify them as a Christian rock band (because their lyrics don't talk about God and other Christian related stuff), but I agree, there are some Christian sounds hidden in many tracks.

And after all, why does it even matter what genre it is? The main thing is that they rock!!

Thank you ! :) That was my initial comment, then I tried to explain it deeper. I just tried to explain the music (sound, singing style), since I obviously don't understand Slovenian (or very limited atleast).

Yeah, I didn't mean a Christian rock band, I just tried to explain how the music sounded to me :)

I think it does matter, because as with all genres there are good and bad, original and not-original. In this case they seem to have a quite particular sound, and it would be a pity if they'd ever go to ESC and they send something else. Many times artists does that fault, they have a sort of sound but then entering ESC with a compromised sound without personality.

You're welcome. Yeah, I know that this was your first comment, not a deep analysis.

OK, I just wanted to explain that their lyrics don't talk about religion. :D

Well, in my opinion there's no good genre and no bad genre. But yeah, it's definitely logical that every person prefer one kind of music over the other ones. And even originality can be found in any genre imo, but it's definitely more common in some genres.

Yes, they truly have a particular sound (if you hear their song on the radio, it isn't hard to recognize it) and they should stay true to themselves if they would ever enter EMA. I actually think that they would stay true to themselves, to their sound, but I really doubt that they will ever enter EMA...

If you're interested, they actually released many songs in English as well (actually English versions of :sl: songs), but I normally listen to their Slovene versions.

There are some rumors that we would have internal selection and Nuša Derenda will represent us in Malmo. I doubt it's true though. :)

Maja Keuc and Alenka Gotar is the only 2 who made it for Slovenia! :-O
Nûsa Derenda in 2001 gave them a 7th place in final! :) - The same did Darja Svagjer in 1995!

This would be perfect!

And this one as well :)

Slovenia has got such a great musical scene, it's unbelievable it is so underrated in Eurovision :/

I quite like Bilbi, but I'm not that fond of "Hvala za vijolice". It would probably be considered as a joke entry, if we sent it to Eurovision. I'm pretty sure that it would fail to qualify.

I like her other songs better, but they might sound kind of boring to wider audience. So.. I don't think that she would be the right option for 2013.

And I just loveeeee Alya. "Say goodbye" is a cover, but she has some amazing songs (that are not covers) as well! We should definitely invite her to EMA 2013!
