Re: SLOVENIA 2013

Well in Portugal,
eurovision was also polular.
Last year that Portugal was not in Final,
the rating of the Final was 38,5 %.

Wasn't it 15,8% of share? That's the number that I found. xshrug

I can't find the overall :sl: ratings, but here are the ratings for kids and youngsters:

Adults with children from 0 to 3 years:
Misija EMA 2012 - 29 %
Eurovision Song Contest 2012 - 51 %
Misija Evrovizija - 25 %

10-14 years
Eurovision Song Contest 2012 - 56 %
Misija Evrovizija - 49 %
Misija Ema 2012 - 23 %

Adults with children from 4 to 9 years:
Misija Ema 2012 - 32 %
Eurovision Song Contest 2012 - 45 %
Misija Evrovizija - 27 %

Eurovision shows were only topped by a Slovenian movie "Gremo mi po svoje" in this age group.

I'll try to find the overall rankings too! :)

Re: SLOVENIA 2013

Slovenia applied for Eurovision, but we didn't pay the participant's fee yet. The deadline to pay the fee is December 15th - until than anyone can withdraw without paying a fine.

Well, the thing is that RTVSLO (entertainment part) doesn't have enough money to pay the fee, which is approx. 60 000€.

The positive part is that RTVSLO is trying to get the required amount of money, but if they don't suceed, we won't see Slovenia on Eurovision. At least not in 2013.

(info: Usoda Eme negotova, prav tako sodelovanje Slovenije na ESC 2013)

I believe that Slovenian broadcaster will solve the problem and the country will take part again in Malmo!

Fingers crossed... can't bear to lose another country!

I always wondered why the fee for participating is so high - and what exactly does it cover?

Nope that was in the semifinal and in 2011. In 2012, both the semi and the final had 15-18% of share, witch is still better than RTP1's usual 13-15%.

Re: SLOVENIA 2013

Dont they have money?Slovenia is not a poor country.

It's about the broadcasters' wealth and not whether the countries are poor or not. Surely, considering public broadcasters are publically funded, whether the country is poor or not might influence, but that depends on the budget and funding of the responsible broadcaster. Some broadcasters get private help in the case of ESC where the acts/record companies themselves pay the fees. Some broadcasters are just simply richer than their countries

Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia are the poorest countries in the contest, they still participate though.

Re: SLOVENIA 2013

Well, Slovenia might not be the poorest country in the world, but our economy is in a really big crisis. Some experts even say that we might be the next in line to ask EU for financial help ...

Our country is basically saving money everywhere they can and that's why they downsized RTVSLO's budget. Well, IMO it's still weird that they want to stop ESC participation, because that's one of rare shows (besides sports) that actually achieve good ratings on RTVSLO. Most of their shows are a complete rating failure and that's why the majority of youngsters (and older people too) watch commercial TV programmes.

Re: SLOVENIA 2013

No news...I think it's almost sure that Slovenia won't be there...but no one actually seems to care :p

Oh we care. There is just so much going on right now, people are busy crying over Bosnia & Turkey's withdrawal. My fingers are crossed for Slovenia, they had two good songs in a row, they're on a roll (regardless of the results iMO)
