Well, if :ie: made it to the final because of the gay dancers then :ru: will surely make it because of the wheelchair.

Well they are desperately trying to hide the wheelchair so ...

Hope this will sink in the blandness and Yulia will finally realise that singing is not for her and will give up the idea of conquering the ESC stage

from Russia with love xheart

We haven't seen the whole rehearsal though

You think there's any way she wont stay on top of that thing for the 3 minutes?
The Russian staging designer himself said on a video on Eurovision's channel that the staging concept was designed to hide Yulia's condition as much as possible (Which is stupid. Imagine Yulia hearing that, how awful she must fell.)

Wow, that's just a disgrace. I don't understand what is the point, the mountain is an epiphany of kitsch. Russian delegation should really be ashamed of themselves, I feel like they have been exploiting Yulia's vulnerability since she was chosen to represent them in 2017.

I'm sorry for her. On one hand there's Saara who did everything like she wanted, got the song she wanted, got the performance she wanted, she is so into Eurovision and she's showing it to everybody in milion ways. Her reaction on qualifying yesterday was the most sincere of all 10. She's fullfilling her dream in a way she wants to.
On the other hand, Yulia can't do any of these things. She had no saying in the song production, nor in the performance idea. I'm 90% sure she's not the evil dying dwarf who took these Lenin portraits and red flags with her on her own. They made her do this and all other things cause "either you do that or you don't go to Eurovision". And let's be honest, that's the ony shot she's ever gonna get so she agrees on everything. If she flops, she can actually live without blaming herself cause she had nothing to do with any of this.

O R, I am so wrong now, and she's indeed, the evil dwarf on a wheelchair we should be afraid of cause if she stood a chance she'd send some nukes to Ukraine and West Europe.

Yeah because they put a gun to her head and forced her to promote Lenin, Soviet and Russian imperialism?... evil dwarf

She's an adult woman, just because she's physically disabled doesn't make her mentally disabled, if she didn't want to wave an effing Lenin flag or whatever she wouldn't... she might not have all say in her entry or performance, but she's not a puppet, she is also responsible for her actions and words like every other adult should be. It's funny how people are making constant excuses for her... would be interesting to see if people did the same had she not been in a wheelchair xshrug

I'm not trying to defend what they had in mind, but either way, there was going to be criticism:

-Hide the wheelchair = they're ashamed of her as a disabled person and have no respect for her by doing so.
-Show the wheelchair = they're asking for pity votes. Boo! What a cheap trick!

Anyway, we will all agree on the fact that :ru: won't make it through tomorrow. I'm feeling quite sad for Julia though, she didn't deserve this trainwreck performance.

Are we? I don't agree, I think they will make it based on diaspora and political votes and some naive "pity" votes because "poor her she's in wheelchair, poor her those awful Ukrainians didn't let her in last year boo hoo".

I'm eager to cast a vote for Julia tomorrow, but... well... I'm still hesitating about this.

Taste differs, but what is likeable in this entry? I'm trying to understand because I can't find anything xshrug

Well, we have all those Russophiles who will vote for it because it's Russia, but if we look at it without political glasses and just the song/entry; she can't sing (one of the worst live singers in Eurovision for some years), the song is extremely basic (boring, dated, uninspiring, boring production etc.), she can't pronounce the words even... I mean I'm trying to get how this could appeal to anyone really xshrug

I'd be very astonished if :ru: didn't make it through, even though I'm expecting Julia to fail at this moment.

I'm confused, do you believe or not believe they will qualify?

:ru: is :ru:. That's basically why I can't manage to believe in a failure from :ru:. However, it'd seem quite logical to see Julia failing to make it through tomorrow.

MIXED FEELINGS, THAT'S IT.
