Then what is the science for those countries with Diaspora and televoting wasting their SMS money suporting their country, when jury will eliminate them?

It would be fantastic to teach a lesson to such people who vote not for songs. They would lose money once, twice and then would hopefully understand something. Unfortunately the juries have failed, they have neither the competence, nor the authority.

That's the way it is, but as long as EBU does nothing about it and just ignores the problem, we will have to live with that.
Reminds me a little of football world championship 2022 taking place in Qatar: The whole world knows it's a wrong decision and completely based on corruption, but Qatar gets to host the championship anyway.

You can add the World Cup 2018 to that list.

It's not like jury failed, i'ts EBU who don't wan't that their Golden Chicken who was shining in the 00's dies eliminating either a Big 5 member or a country who leaves them a lot of money in their benefint, and plus could be undemocratict don't let people chose!

Juries are not doing their job. They should be responsible for eliminating blockvoting and diaspora votes.

Juries are maybe even more political and biased these days than televoters though xshrug

Their job is not to "punish" countries for having diaspora voting, their job is to make sure that you won't be successful just based on that if your song is not worthy... they are two different things, but the juries seem to be slightly stuck on the "punish" part, although yeah somehow they let crappy entries through that are boosted by diaspora votes, but that might be connected to that juries tend to have crappy taste in music so

Stop thinking that russia can qualify with anything..

someday in the distant future, no country will have a 100% QF streak

If this isn't bad enough, what will ever be?

Everyone knows, that Russia is 100% qualifier. Unfortunately, politics will win again :( (btw. i like this song, but i'm not sure if it should qualify)

Russia is nowhere near a 100% qualifier.

Judging from the snippet, the final product looks rather good to me given the circumstances. It doesn't look as messy as I feared.

Even vocally, if they keep the sound mix as is, it could be enough to qualify.

They can ditch the dress though, it doesn't suit her imo.

If not then they should give the reazon to :ua: in not allowing Yulia participation's last year or even praying :tr: comeback!

I thought that this is supposed to be a Music-Contest, not a Diaspora Contest?
2011 proved very well that it Works fine. Russia was 7th and mainly because of Politics, because Musicwise this high Position wasnt deserved. And the Juries corrected Russia down to 16th Place, which would be thre Position, Russia got Diaspora-Adjusted. The Same can be said for Serbia 2016 as well f.e. or Turkey 2012.

The same goes for :ru: in *take a deep breath* 2010 2012 2014.

2010 Russia was 11th in the TV, 15th in the JV and 11th Combined. I rather think that Peter was underrated and deserved 6th-8th Place.
2012 and 2014 the Juries didnt changed much on the overall Result. 2nd for the Grannies were ok and even Diaspora-adjusted, they would have been second.
2014 Juries downgraded Russia from 6th to 7th Place. That year shows, how strong Russias Politicpower is, because Diaspora/Politic-Adjusted a Place between 10th and 14th would be realistic if the Neighbor Televoter and Juries were a bit fair.

xpuke

So much for "not bringing politics to ESC" , maybe people will stop seeing her as this victim she's clearly not... it was political in 2017 and they just had to bring it again this year... I mean really Russia? You needed to make a point that Ukraine is still your Soviet Republic? Celebrate a mass murderer? They just couldn't let it be now could they? xshrug Now what if the German delegation came with old Nazi propaganda and portraits of Hitler on the carpet? Sickening xpuke
