Cant believe there are people spending Money to vote for this xshrug
Hopefully Russias Diaspora is at least a bit "fair" and gives her "only" 60-65 Points, so that Juries can do the Rest.
And no, im not russophobic but objective and neutral as always.

Could :ru: even withdraw from this contest if they truly went on not to qualify?

Are we? I don't agree, I think they will make it based on diaspora and political votes and some naive "pity" votes because "poor her she's in wheelchair, poor her those awful Ukrainians didn't let her in last year boo hoo".

Tbh I don't think your average viewer are going to give a flying f*** over her being wheelchair bound or the fact she got booted from Ukraine last year. We've all moved from last year and I doubt it will play in the minds of many people when voting. I think it's clear that the only ones who will vote for it will be the handful who do enjoy the song and the diaspora, but the whole package is so badly done that there is a good possibility that the diaspora alone won't get it through. Russia doesn't have a particularly good draw either. Two potential voters are countries they're not exactly on friendly terms with as it is.

Well, Turkey withdrew for being sore losers (without a good reason) and also for politically distancing themselves from Europe (Eurovision doesn't fit with the regime's ideas), so I guess nothing is impossible xshrug

However, I do think Russia wants Eurovision as a platform to promote themselves and spread, let's call it, an "adjusted image" (= propaganda), so I think Russia will stay regardless.

I mean if they really withdrew based on a potential no qualification with such a complete CRAP entry they sent this year, then they are having even more delusions of grandeur than Turkey had. No musical expert should even think of voting this to the final, and it has NOTHING to do with being anti or pro Russia, this is just a musical trainwreck that's the problem, if this wasn't Russia it would have been ranked in the bottom with almost 100% certain no qualification.

No, that would make too many people too happy. They will be back next year, probably with a peace song.

Well, if I understand things correctly each country delegation are handing out information to the national commentators which they want them to use during the postcard intros of their entries, now I guess it's up to the commentators to pay notice to them or not, but for sure Russia's delegation probably mentioned "disability" and "banned from Ukraine, although it was her biggest dream" on those... if commentators will jump onboard and present her as this poor victim, some of the public might pity vote for her xshrug

Perhaps so, and it will probably be mentioned, but I don't imagine commentators painting her as so hard done by. Probably people will pity vote but I think you way over estimate how many. That is all.

Yeah, but we still have the Russian diaspora and Russia's political "friends", so in the end I still think, unfortunately, this awful entry will qualify and steal the spot of something more worthy xshrug

Now the ONLY good aspect, if this would qualify, is that at least Norway won't get most of the the 12's from ex-USSR countries and Russian diaspora... which probably will happen if they won't qualify, so that could be the only blessing in disguise.

Even the backing vocalists are bad, worse than even in the rehearsals. There is no way that can qualify, anyone else and it's a sure non-qualifier.

Buranovskie babushki did well with juries and they were by far worse vocally to Yulia, if jury vote her down, it wouldn't be due to bad vocals, but due to being Russia! ;)

Please Yulia qualify! xlove xheart xpray

The babushki had a fun song and performance. What does Julia have, except drama, Lenin and diaspora?

Can't wait for 2019 in this aspect, finally getting (hopefully) a decent Russian entry and performance (be it even a cheesy peace ballad).

If Azerbaijan and Armenia couldn't qualify with better vocals and better song this isn't going to.

I'm 100% sure if they miss the final they will withdraw next year...
