Even Russia likes to play safe with their recent entries they don't have to sing in russian, but to make sure the entries feel russian.
You know... Ethically russian, musically russian and made with the lovable soul of a russian. Like this entry below.
The best Russian Entry in this Decade by far. Such a Shame that Polina, Sergey and Dina came Top5 instead of him.
My fave is definitely Anasatcia Prikhodko - "Mamo"...the best ESC entry and performance EVER!

And what about entry in Swedish language, since when we haven't heard it, and when we will hear it again? :? I doubt we will ever again..

I sincerely hope she'll sing in Russian because 1) she's way more at ease with it obviously, she said it herself last year, and 2) Russian is so beautiful it could really be an added value to the song.
That's a proof Russia can do well in their own language, but they have to get rid of the russian delegation and do somthing new with it.

Not really. Mamo is a bilingual song in Russian and in Ukrainian sung by a Ukrainian singer.
I actually liked Flame is burning last year, so my expectations are pretty high. However, I am not sure about her live vocals... are they good?
Kind of ironic considering things... but yeah that's true... I remember back then there was some drama about Russian nationalists demanding that the entry to be changed... well luckily for us we got the best Russian entry to date instead! Something like "Mamo" again would be more than welcomed!
They weren't good in studio version even
But atleast in Russian she feels more comfortable so it's not as painful when she sings in Russian, although they are still pretty bad...

Okay, not literally ethnical as Russia is really diverse with different cultures and languages. I used ethnic as a term for russian entries which represented the russian music scene as a whole, opposite to the recent russian entries we have now...This was a really underrated entry, however it's not ethnical but it was surely local sounding and unique... and most importantly a good entry!
But Yulia can't sing in English to save her life, so she better sticks to Russian...
I really cross my fingers for a genuine entry, that could work for her, anything like the mess last year and they should end up in the bottom however...

As for Yulia...
If Russia will still go for their recent formula, the delegation will invest for a gimmick that may work for Yulias advantage. It's more about what Russia will do with the staging/show than the song itself. That will be crucial if Russia will stay in top 3 or not.
Hmm ok, well I often think of "ethnic" as something having ethno or folky flavor, which I wouldn't really say it had... but certainly it was locally sounding and genuine in the ESC context... to me it was like some Russian-indie blend...
Top.3? If they send anything even remotely close to the mess of last year's song they should be bottom 3
I do agree that staging is Russia's strongest card these days, but I hope they will surprise us and actually send a good entry for a change too... haven't happened since the grannies (although that was more a novelty entry) or if not counting them then 2009...
